For The So[U]le

One’s “soul” is the essence of being human.

One’s “sole” is the bottom support of the shoe.

For The SOULE started as my senior collection in college. A predominantly men’s streetwear collection matched with the flyest kicks I could find to match.

My three favorite things have always been music, sports, and fashion (mostly sneakers). It is so crazy to me today, the three have essentially been encompassed into one. You can’t go to a Houston Rockets game without James Harden and Russel Westbrook having a Fit-Off in the tunnel, and dance party on the bench during warmups, and I cannot get enough of that.

Growing up my grandmother would get me a different pair of sneakers all the time. I remember when she bought me my first pair of Jordan’s - Military 4s. It was just after me and the guy at Champs had to beg her because she was trying to get a way with some all white K-Swiss. I went to college to “become a sneaker designer.” Sneaker designing was not a part of the curriculum at the time, and as my classmates were designing wedding gowns and Avant-Garde, I fell in love with streetwear.

I grew up the oldest, and took after my father. I played softball, basketball, hockey, probably everything at one point in time. People tell me I’m the biggest Red Sox fan they’ve ever met, maybe because I’m the only baseball fan left on this planet, but that is okay. I’m pretty competitive in the things that I do, so that is why I love sports. If I talk about them here, it will either be Boston heavy, but mostly just culturally relevant news.

I’ve been listening to rap music since my uncle started buying me Eminem, 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg CDs in the first grade. My parents didn’t love it. I am certain my friends think it is strange. But for some reason, out of everything I mentioned, my strongest passion point lies here. Music is the universal language, which means everything to me. I love the beats, breaking down lyrics, the high energy, the beefs, battles, drama, relationships, group break ups, features - everything.

So all in all, I am here to speak my opinions on what I love. Everything that I write here is my own personal opinion. If you would like counter argue with me, I would love a debate. If you’re judgmental or get easily offended, leave.
