50 Cent Vs. STARZ

Eminem as White Boy Rick is Episode 7 of BMF

50 Cent is mad at STARZ and now looking into purchasing the network, after becoming unhappy with how the latest BMF episode release went down. Starting his career as a hip-hop artist and musician, 50 Cent has expanded his craft across many business adventures, and it seems like film and network series may be his specialty. Will he progress and purchase the network, leading us to more great hits?

The disappointment comes from STARZ leaking a new episode of 50 Cent’s latest show BMF: Black Mafia Family, earlier than anticipated, then taking it down. Episode 7 of the series was supposed to drop this week, but STARZ made the recommendation to hold it back one week, so that the following week they go could lead right into GHOST on the 21st. Seems like a plan they used to keep people interested in the series before they can drop off due to cliff hangers or the end of plot. 50 Cent agreed to this plan, but it was not executed to his liking.

Apparently, STARZ released the episode 7 at midnight and it was live for three hours before they were able to take it down. So, those whom were up til midnight waiting for the show to drop, likely already have seen the episode and all that entailed, which included Eminem’s first cameo as White Boy Rick. 50 Cent shared that this episode was his best work to date, and he is disappointed in how the network handled the situation.

While sharing his disappointed for how the network had handled the episode’s leak, 50 Cent did take time out to thank his good friend, Eminem. Of course, Eminem had gave 50 Cent a path to success in hip-hop, in the early 2000s. They have been extremely close ever since, and 50 Cent gave Eminem a role in BMF, playing White Boy Rick. It was perfect fit, especially due to the story being based out of Detroit, where Eminem is also from. The images were hilarious, seeing Eminem dressed up with a new hair style and facial hair, while looking so serious. We have seen Eminem do some acting in the past, as it’s also the 19th anniversary of 8 Mile, but never like this. If you missed out on the leak, this will definitely be a big episode hitting networks next week.

Earlier this month, the Board of Directors from the STARZ network made a notion for the team to explore potential capital markets alternatives for the media network. AKA - they’re looking for someone to buy. Where 50 Cent has felt he has given the network two back-to-back hit series with more on the way, he is not only ready to work with new people, but potentially even run it himself. He has gone out of his way to find the best fits for the roles and marketed himself and his shows to a tee. Could the television series space be 50 Cent’s new-found, long-term career?
