6ix9ine Is Coming Home

It looks like 6ix9ine is coming home soon, just in time for the last month of summer. At the end of 2019, 6ix9ine was sentenced to twenty-four months in prison, after pleading guilty to racketeering and conspiracy charges, as well as eight other felonies; including weapon possession, armed robbery, and dealing some pretty dangerous drugs. I feel like it was so much longer than that, and I didn’t think he’d even survive jail to make it home. However, it looks like 6ix9ine will be a free man as of August 2nd, turning two years into six months. But the real question is, should we be happy for him - or should we be nervous?

The reason for such a time reduction, was 6ix9ine’s “cooperation with the authorities.” AKA - 6ix9ine snitched up and down. He snitched on the Nine Trey Bloods, but he also snitched on so many people in the industry that (at least to our current public knowledge) had absolutely nothing to do with the trail at hand. 6ix9ine said that Jim Jones and Cari B were both members of the Nine Trey Bloods. Cardi came out with a tweet basically saying she was associated with a gang, but not Nine Trey. Honestly a risky move, in my opinion. But it seems like she got away with it. Jim Jones. He is the guy that sang “we fly high, no lie, you know this, ballin’!” Just incase some of you forgot. Seems a bit random to me, but I guess if he went missing, none of us would notice.

The next day, more snitching arises. We learn that Trippie Redd is a member from a rival gang, Five Nine Brims. 6ix9ine mentions this, while stating that he wrote “Gummo” as a diss track towards Trippie who he had an issue with at the time. I thought this was funny, because I never thought of Gummo as a diss track. When you look at the lyrics, it totally is. The content describes robbing, killing, taking the girl of the person you’re beefing with. But the execution of the song, I never thought of it like this. I thought it was just fake gang nonsense to make an ignorant rap hit, which we had not seen in a while.

Finally, he also mentions Casanova as a gang affiliate member during his testimony. I think this is the one person we see affected, but nothing super inconvenient or life altering. This was when Rolling Loud and New York City dropped Casanova, Pop Smoke, Don Q, Sheff G and 22GZ from their lineup, due to police reports and safety concerns suggesting they had all (in different ways) “been affiliated with recent acts of violence citywide.” I thought this was crazy, since rappers seem to get into trouble all the time. But it was a bit suspicious, like after 6ix9ine snitched, they had to be doing some digging on these guys. This festival was only three weeks after the name drops in court.

So, really what I’m thinking is, where does 6ix9ine and his career go from here? He will be free on August 2nd, and so far has said he will not go into witness protection. I get it, you want to be free and pick up your career where you left off. However, I think it is going to be dangerous. During trial, 6ix9ine admitted the Nine Trey gave him his career, credibility, and protection. Now, I’m going to have to say he does not have those guys. He also had to have pissed off a lot of folks in the industry getting others involved instead of taking his own charge. I think the ignorant public will say, 6ix9ine is going to get murdered. For me, I thought it would have happened while he was in jail. One, because he had recently prior to this case went to jail for a sex tape created with an underaged girl. Second because, I think 6ix9ine would be a pretty-boy to the scary guys in jail. However, he was in an out of there, way sooner than anyone thought. On one hand, I think he is going to be absolutely fine and continue to make music and be crazy online, just like Lil Boosie did. On the other hand, the only real part that worries me, is the Nine Treys that he snitched on. If they’re still around and “about that life” I would stay away from them, which I am sure is his plan. I kind of think it’s something that is too obvious for it to actually happen. Why did it happen to XXX or Pop Smoke? Who knows. For that reason, I think we’ll be hearing some new 6ix9ine soon. Can’t wait *eye rolls* …
