A New Era of Lil Wayne
4.21.21
While Lil Wayne may not have had the best of years last year, it appears is luck may be changing. Recent news share that Lil Wayne has signed a new deal, and will be releasing new music soon. On top of this, it looks like he has a few additional business adventures. Plus, according to Lil Wayne’s Twitter, it seems like he is a newly married man. Clearly Lil Wayne has been manifesting a better 2021 than 2020. Hopefully he blesses us with some the Lil Wayne we’d been missing, and it happens to all of us as well.
Firstly, let’s start off with the marriage allegations. This is big news to us, because Lil Wayne’s relationship was seemingly a little rocky after the picture posing with Donald Trump went viral. People were putting down Lil Wayne and questioning him as an honorary member of the hip-hop community, for seemingly being quite friendly with the former President. Rumors had spread that his girlfriend at the time had left him for these acts. However, she posted a statement saying he would never do that, and he was actually mad at her for not agreeing with his values. Either way you put it, the two seem to be happy together, and potentially happily ever after. Lil Wayne shared a Tweet mentioning happy forever, and playing off of an old Kanye West bar.
Happiest man alive! Today is the beginning of our forever. Forever?? Forever, ever?? FOREVER EVER!!!!! The Carters.
Lil Wayne married on 4/20? Of course! A date could not be more perfect other that Gucci Mane’s 10/17 wedding day.
Speaking of 4/20, there was also a new post that Lil Wayne shared on his Instagram page, about something exclusive dropping on 4/20. This was not a new single, unfortunately, but apparently a new marijuana project he had been working on with GKUA Ultra Premium. This is Lil Wayne’s own marijuana brand, which launched a new product exclusively in California for the holiday. Additionally, it appears that the brand will be hosting some sort of virtual musical festival, with Young Money and Friends, which you can currently get pre-sale passes for on their website.
Finally, speaking of Young Money and Friends, we have recent news that Lil Wayne has signed a new music deal. He recently signed to UTA (United Talent Agency) which will allow him to have a marketing manager across the globe. He still will remain Young Money, but moves on from his current partners at CAA (Creative Artists Agency). Under his new team, he announced releasing his next album I Am Not A Human Being III.
CAA is extremely well known in the United States from content creators of all forms, but UTA is no stranger to global hip-hop artists. They represent a number of artists from YG, Post Malone, Offset, Bad Bunny, Tyga and more. Though he has this new representation team, he will still be Young Money, still be Republic Records, and will continue to be represented by Mack Maine. The new album is set to release later this year. It will be interesting to see if he sound and/or delivery changes at all with this new team, or if he possibly will just gain traction in other areas of the world with his comeback to music. Lil Wayne was known as the GOAT about a decade ago, but he has been recently putting in some work. Maybe he needs the life in the other areas to take back what is his.
