It seems like celebrity break ins have been happening left and right lately, it’s a bit scary. We know how the tragic Pop Smoke break in ended, and Taylor Swift’s home was also broken into this past February as well. Being in a safe neighborhood doesn’t mean much when you’re a public figure, and trackable. Eminem typically stays under cover and quiet, but it has just been reported that earlier this month, he caught an intruder in his home in the middle of the night.

Eminem getting his house broken into, has got to be scary and alarming, but it is definitely not new to the rapper. In many songs, including ‘Mockingbird,’ Eminem shares tainted past memories:

“at the time, every house that we lived in kept getting broken into and robbed or shot up on the block”

Some things are meant to be left in the past, and I’m sure this was one that Eminem thought was in the past. In the middle of the night, Matthew Hughes, a twenty-six year old man, broke into Eminem’s house by throwing a paving stone through the glass doors in the kitchen. He then, proceeded to have a seat in Eminem’s living room.

Of course, there is an alarm system in the house. Apparently, it woke up Eminem, but not the security. Eminem found the man in his living room, yelled for security, whom then ran and detained the intruder. He is now being held in prison with a $50,000 bail set, and a court hearing June 29th.

Not many other details are known about the incident, but it doesn’t seem like the intruder was trying to steal anything. He was really just sitting, hanging out in the living room. Eminem may have just found himself the ultimate ‘Stan,’ who found his home and broke into it in the middle of the night just to see Eminem face to face. I am not sure that this is the best method in order to meet your hero. How would anyone enjoy this kind of pop up? Why not just knock during the day? Or leave a letter, you know Eminem will get to the letter at some point. Truthfully, he’s lucky that Eminem didn’t kill him with a baseball bat from underneath his bed upon instant reaction. Though, this guy probably would have loved that. This kid is what I envision when I hear the Ken Kanffic skits.

I cannot wait to hear when Eminem comes out publicly about this incident. I’m sure it will be a comically stated series of events, though a scary one indeed. Hopefully this doesn’t continue now that everyone knows Eminem has a home in Clinton Township. There are bound to be a few other Stans running wild.
