Basketball Wives MVP
4.19.22
Do we have any reality television fans on the page? You could certainly add it to my resume of things I am obsessed with, mainly when it connects to the big three: music, sports, and fashion. Basketball Wives does pretty much all of that, and has just announced a new season, that will bring original fans of the series back to their TV screens.
Why is it such a big deal this time around? Well, started up by Shaunie O’Neal, the former wife of NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, we will never get enough of supporting women business owners in the industry. But at that, it is the 10th season of Basketball Wives, and to celebrate, they are bringing in the MVP lineup.
The cast will include the long-last crew of Shaunie, Jackie, Malaysia and Jennifer. Additionally, fan favorites that you have not seen in years are returning to our screens, including Angel Brinks and DJ Duffy and more. Angel Brinks has her own fashion line, Angel Brinks Fashion. She is celebrating twelve years of her business, and just launched a brand new athletic-wear line called SGH (She Go Hard!). DJ Duffy is indeed, a DJ. It appears her storyline on this season is toying between continuing to DJ, or putting it on hold to pursue her dreams of recording her own album. In the preview of the series, Duffy gets a FaceTime from French Montana saying that if she leaves, she will not be coming back. Duffy has been DJing for French for many years now, so it seems like he does not take the news well to her potentially looking to start her own musical journey.
These two were definitely some of my favorite from the earlier seasons. I would say the only person we are missing now, would be Tami Roman. While it does not seem like Tami will be joining the Basketball Wives ladies, she has just announced that she scored her own television series, Unfaithful: Caught In The Act. Just as it may sound, Tami will team up with individuals in a relationship, suspicious that their significant others may be cheating. If you know anything about Tami, she will get to the bottom of it. The trailer certainly makes it seem like Tami is an FBI agent, taking all prisoners. Tami’s new series premiers Monday, May 16th at 10PM on VH1, which will be right after the new season of Basketball Wives, premiering Monday May 16th, 8PM on VH1.
The ladies are putting in work, as they should. These should both be extremely fun series to watch with familiar faces. This is a similar story to Kat from Black Ink Crew Chicago, who just inked a deal with Paramount +, which seems like she will have her own show in due time, as well.
