Bruised: The Soundtrack

Bruised: The Soundtrack 11.19.21

The Netflix film Bruised, will be available for streaming on November 24th. Halle Berry, Adan Canto and Adriane Lenox will star in the film of a struggling MMA fighter looking to redeem her career, as not only a fighter, but also as a mother. This powerful film of the story of a female’s struggles, of course will be met with a well anticipated soundtrack, produced and completely made of tracks from female artists in hip-hop.

The soundtrack is always an emotional and important part to every film. It makes you feel the scenery and the action that takes place, without the actors having to say a word. So many times soundtracks are powerful and impactful, but when have you ever heard one, created by females, top to bottom? Last night, Rapsody shared on her Instagram that Bruised: The Soundtrack, will be releasing on November 19th. The album will be executively produced by Cardi B, and Halle Berry herself. Rapsody noted that this is, in fact, the first soundtrack by all women in hip-hop.

This is not just a project A-Lists, nor a project with up-and-coming artists. It is not a recycled project, either. No. The soundtrack will include brand new songs, from an array of artists, from Cardi B, Rapsody, Saweetie, City Girls, H.E.R., Latto, Young M.A, Flo Milli, Young Baby Tate, Erica Banks, Dream Doll, Bottle Wyanna and Ambre.

It feels almost impossible for this to be a more exciting and impactful project. You have girls of all different types of hip-hop, rap and R&B, at all different levels, from all around the country. Halle Berry shared that the first track from the soundtrack will drop tomorrow, November 5th. It will be the City Girls song, titled Scared.

With that title, and the clear emotions that we are going to get from this film, it feels like a lot of girls will get a chance to get deep and tell their story. Some of whom may many times steer away from that in their day-to-day because their image is simply portrayed as a hard-core rapper with bars. It offer an opportunity for vulnerability, and a bit of versatility to showcase how much these ladies truly have to offer. Not to worry, I am certain there will still be plenty of those upbeat and bar-heavy songs when we are taken to a practice, a fight, or anytime it is just go time.

This is so exciting on all front. First single this Friday. The soundtrack in two weeks. The Netflix film, Bruised, the Friday after that. Tune in.
