Charm City Kings, Premiering 10.8.20 on HBO Max

Meek Mill shares the trailer for his latest acting gig. Charm City Kings will be available for streaming on HBO Max services on October 8th, 2020. The drama film will feature the Dreams and Nightmares artist as one of the main characters of the film, and uses Will and Jada Pinkett Smith as executive producers. The initial release of this film was scheduled for showings across major festivals earlier this year, but were cancelled due to the pandemic. Finally, the time has come we will all get a chance to view the work.

The trailer shows a young main as the main character. He has a bike, and is infatuated with a group of men that ride through the streets and show off their stunts. They are a collective called the Midnight Clique, and he wants to join them. Only being in seventh grade at the time, he is denied at first, but the young boy is persistent. Whether it be these bikers, or different friends, the young boy finds himself in trouble.

It appears Meek Mill is one of the guys in the top tier biking game. Eventually, he is shown giving a pep talk to the young boy. In a way that suggests he should get his head on straight, and stay out of the dangers of the streets. People where they come from do not get second chances. The scene is emotional and already seems like an amazing performance for Meek, and this young actor. The two minute trailer is available for anyone to watch on the HBO Max website.

Thought is not a direct reflection of Meek Mill’s past, such as the Free Meek series, this seems like the perfect roll for him. Meek was infamously arrested from riding a bike, something he has loved to do for many years. He has gotten into plenty of trouble before that, and is now doing his best to vocally provide knowledge for others, to stay safe and rise above the madness of the streets. I think this will be amazing, and I cannot wait to watch.

HBO Max is an American subscription video on demand streaming service from AT&T's WarnerMedia. If you do not have this subscription, you need to find someone that does. This is exactly how I felt with Meek Mill’s Amazon Prime documentary, Free Meek. The 2019 five-party docu-series film was a true story about his life. It was extremely interesting to see him as an actor, and learn more about his life, his city and how he grew up. The stories he told were enraging, and put much of his legal troubles into perspective. He has been a target of the government. They have no care or mercy to him. Overall, the story was incredible.
