Alicia Keys does what we think would be impossible, yet again. Her hit single City of Gods, featuring Kanye West and Fivio Foreign has been a massive hit, reaching charts across the world. What does she do with that? She creates a visual music to Part II of the single, with just herself, on each verse.

Typically when you think of songs and remixes, it is an artist putting out a record solo, then finding companions whom loved the song so much, they wanted to do a verse. Well, like the norm-breaking powerful woman that Alicia Keys is, she did this in reverse. Part II to the single has a lot more piano, and of course, a lot more Alicia. The chorus remains what it was, but she removes the featured vocals and replaces with two new verses of her own. You get much more feeling from this version. Alicia talks about broken dreams and being hurt, but the visuals constitute to her triumph through it all.

After just eight hours of release, the visuals are at about 20,000 YouTube views. This I would anticipate to skyrocket throughout the day when people get word of what just happened. Alicia Keys is seen in front of a Mercedes car that looks like it is from decades in the future. A special guest, Slick Rick, joins Alicia, placing icy chain after icy chain on her neck. At one point, Alicia had diamond grills in her mouth and so many chains around her neck I thought she might actually fall over.

With something like this, my guess would be that the original version triumphs in terms of numbers. However, for those that appreciate music and the artistry that was done here, you cannot help but to call this magnificent. The original, from Alicia, is a monumental track for the year, and we’re just exiting Q1. The sequel, shows female power, dignity, and integrity. Nonetheless, Alicia Keys still shout out her two peers from the original version, everyone who helped with the visuals, and those whose beats she used beforehand. The class act that she is, wrote this on Instagram, as she promoted her newest track:
