Over the weekend, Coi Leray performed at a club in Houston, and things did not go as how the artist would have hopped. Coi is coming off of two massive hit records, with No More Parties, and Big Purr. On top of that, you see the energy she gives in all of her Instagram Videos, so you would anticipate the concert and the crowd to be pretty hype. Unfortunately, this was not the case.

In a video clip that has gone viral, you can see Coi Leray performing, but the crowd is not really feeling it. There is a lot of people present, especially after coming back from a global pandemic, however, the energy does not exist. The people are standing and looking, but that is as far as it goes. Many people responded on social media, making fun that the Houston crowd did Coi Leray dirty during her performance, or stating that they were not entertaining her new songs.

One girl TikTok responded to the trending topic, noticing that she was at the concert, in one of the viral clips from the show. She stated that she was confused during the video, because she was expecting No More Parties, and Big Purr. The videos circulating were from Coi performing new music, which the fans seemed to have not been familiar with, and that is why they were just standing there. The TikTok girl mentioned that the crowd got right once the more popular songs did come on, however it was still nothing too impressive.

Unfortunately, this did not sit well with Coi. She went on a bit of a Twitter rampage in her feelings regarding the situation. Though, many came through to give her words of support, including Rubi Rose, Polo G and Nicki Minaj. Nicki’s words, who appealingly meant the most to Coi, were as followed:

Don’t do that. Chin up. Always remember this, when black ppl not fkn w|you #TheyWillBoo. Those ppl were on their feet. That means they may not have known the song, but they were interested in getting to know more— so they were observing u. Charge it to the game & move on

Coi responded to Nicki thanking her for her comments. She also tweeted it went from the worst weekend to the best weekend, and that she was charging it to the game.

Coi Leray has been working on her music for a while now. She has definitely been through a lot in the limelight, with her family’s relationships with each other constantly being shared and judged with the world. Recently, she has been getting the well deserved respect for her music, and seemingly just needed some words of support, during an embarrassing reactive video that has been circulating regarding her last performance.
