Kanye West Donda Releasing 7.23.21

A year ago today, was when Kanye West announced that he was releasing a new album, Donda. The album was supposed to release that Friday, however in Kanye West fashion, the album never came. Ye has been through a lot in the past year, but on the anniversary of the announcement, we have received confirmation that it is finally coming. At least, as of right now.

The album titled Donda is named after Kanye’s mother. He has been vocal in the past about his close relationship with his family, so it is a nice touch the name has remained the same throughout the past year. It has been reported that over the weekend, Kanye had a listening party for his album. Justin LA Boy , social media star, shared a Tweet saying that Kanye West shared the project with him and claims it is an absolute classic that is lightyears ahead of it’s time, and we will not want to listen to anything else for quite some time.

There have also been many rumors suggesting that the album appears to be a diss project to his ended marriage and relationship with Kim Kardashian and his family. However, many are trying to heal these rumors, suggesting there is some deep content, but he would never speak poorly on the mother of his children, and she has previously heard the body of work.

Alleged features from the project include Chris Brown, Lil Baby, Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, Pusha T, Post Malone and more. One year ago, Ye did reveal the tracklist without any mentions of features existing, so no way to tell if these are all new songs, or if it is even true, just yet. After Akademiks shared the news on his Instagram about a reported upcoming album, Lil Durk entered the chat saying “I missed the jet. Oh well. Next album.” He could have just missed the listening party, or perhaps there will be a new Kanye West and Lil Durk collab on the way. Which, could be pretty amazing for Chicago.

Now, no one trusts a Kanye album release until it actually releases, but all things point towards the fact that it is on the way. Kanye West just revamped his Instagram, deleted all his posts, and has since just shared one outfit detailed photo. It was also announced that he plans to perform at Rolling Loud Miami. With this, the entire industry discussing the album release party, and a new commercial, we feel pretty good about the new album dropping this Friday.

Kanye West previewed a new track in a Beats headphones commercial, starring athlete Sha'Carri Richardson. Sha’Carri has similarly been through a ton in just the past month, so it was incredible what they were able to put together. She is wearing her Nike spike running sneakers and leggings, warming up, while listening to her Beats buds headphones. The song is Kanye West singing, “always count on God, he’s done miracles for me.” It does sound like more gospel Kanye, but very meaningful, powerful and feel good tunes.

So, I feel really good that this project and coming. I really do not know if I will be listening to nothing but the Kanye album, but I will definitely been listening through and coming up with my own thoughts on the project, which I am thoroughly excited for.
