EST Gee is gearing up to drop his next album, El Toro 2, this Friday. The project which is available for pre-sale on stream services, shares it has twenty tracks, three of them, which are available now. EST Gee just dropped one of his new singles and music video for, XXL. At the same time, his press run for the project is hitting in a way that was likely unplanned.
EST Gee singed with Yo Gotti’s label in 2021, and has been consistent since. One of the first singles on EST Gee’s new project is called A Moment With Gotti, a clear ode to what his life has has become with the support of his CMG family. Watch how you ask about his Moment With Gotti, however becuase he may just walk away.
With every artists new album release, comes a press run with different types of media and interviews where the artists gets to talk about their upcoming project and what they have been up to leading to this moment. EST Gee has been sharing a number of interviews and articles written about himself and his music career, all leading up to the release of this big album release. However, there was one interview that EST Gee appeared to not be so fond of, which was Bootleg Kev’s podcast.
A few clips have gone viral of EST Gee not being receptive to Bootleg Kev’s questions, then walking out. Some are confused as to why he was so upset with the podcast. From what we see in the clips, Kev asks EST Gee about his past as a football player, which could be something interesting to learn that not everyone knows about EST Gee’s upbringing. Then, it appears EST Gee walks off when Kev asks about the “bidding war” of labels wanting to sign EST Gee, and ultimately going with Yo Gotti and CMG.
While these may seem like normal questions, EST Gee had his reasoning for walking out. He shared on his stories that he was fine with talking about his football career, and does so quite often. However, he did not like other questions throughout the music video. Kev brought up a porn-star when they were talking about people with big jewelry, which EST Gee asked to get off of. He also asked if EST Gee believed in aliens, and though did not seem interested in the topic, Kev seemed to press further that it was a big thing happening in pop culture.
EST Gee was there to talk about music, and his upcoming album. However, it seemed that Kev was more interested in the athletic programs and taxes though from Louisville are required to pay. The interview lasts about twenty minutes, so what there is of it, can be watched to understand the full series of events.
Some artists and interviewers just do not mesh. There likely is not much that Kev did wrong, but EST Gee was not feeling it, and felt he was not given the proper opportunity to talk about his upcoming album. But you know what they say - no statement, is the biggest statement you can make. So, walking off camera mid interview is sure to continue to get a ton of views, and furthermore, attention on this new album.
XXL already has over 264,000 views on YouTube in twenty-four hours. The podcast has been live for just under this timeline, and has nearly 100,000 views. El Toro 2 drops Friday, are you rocking with EST Gee?
