As of today, Gunna is no longer behind bars. After being indicted and put behind bars with Young Thug and many other YSL members since May, Gunna was able to walk out of the prison today, and leave in a Maybach. Gunna and his team however, want to ensure fans know this does not mean he will be cooperating with authorities or snitching on YSL in any way.

Gunna was charged with a five-year sentence. If they reached an Alford Plea deal, Gunna one have to serve one of the years, with the rest being suspended. Due to time already served, Gunna could walk away a free man, and has done so today. The Alfred plea deal concludes Gunna is continuing to claim his innocence, while the team believes the jury will have evidence to end with a guilty verdict.

While Gunna was able to set himself free with this plea deal, he released a statement ensuring he was not cooperating with authority or snitching on YSL. The statement read:

“While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have not made any statements, have not been interviewed, have not cooperated, have not agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely no intention of being involved in the trial process in any way”

Gunna was originally charged with felony possession with intent to distribute of several controlled substances, one count of RICO. Young Thug and others remain behind bars, and await trial to begin on January 9th, 2023.
