Bobby Shmurda, Rowdy Rebel

Bobby Shmurda, Rowdy Rebel

This passed December, Rowdy Rebel had been released from prison a bit early, after being behind bars with Bobby Shmurda for the past six years. Fans had wondered when Bobby was coming home, and if this had meant he was up next. Saddened to hear that the judge decided he should remain behind bars until the end of the maximum sentence, means another full year for Bobby Shmurda. Though the former President had pardoned a few rappers and hip-hop artists, Bobby was left off the list. However, it seems that we will hear from him much sooner than the upcoming December which seems so far away.

Since being released, Rowdy Rebel was welcomed back into the hip-hop community with open arms. Last Friday, Rowdy dropped a new single with Nav tilted Jesse Owens, including a music video. There has also been pictures of Rowdy Rebel in the studio with Lil Baby floating around the Internet, suggesting that he is back and laser focused on what is important right now. Over the holiday season, Rowdy gave away thousands of toys to children in his hometown, as well as donating $50,000 to the community. This is a comeback story you have to love to see.

Now, Rowdy has by no means forgotten about getting his brother home next. We have seen Instagram Lives being recorded while talking to Bobby Shmurda on the phone. Just about two weeks ago, Rowdy shared a photo of Bobby on his Instagram page, suggesting that Bobby has been like a brother since elementary school, who never changed up on him for anything. The two have a very strong bond, and Rowdy is so excited to his Bobby come home.

Though December is quite far away, there appears to be a very good chance that we will see Bobby Shmurda come out from behind bars, just next week. While parole was previously denied for Bobby this past September, a more recent review lead by the Department of Corrections suggests that Bobby could be released on February 23rd. This is on condition of consistent new behavior, and Bobby would be on a close watch as he serves the final year of his sentence on parole.

Believe it or not, February 23rd is less than a week away. While it seems like there will still be another decision that has to be made to physically release Bobby from his cell, him and his team are very clearly confident that he will be coming home, and have been hinting at the return on various social media channels.

On Bobby’s personal Instagram page, he has been sharing images and stories every now and then. He has been reposting all of the work that Rowdy is putting out to support, but something new suggests his release. Bobby shared a post one of his friends had posted to his story. The post was asking all fans to share a video of themselves doing the Shmurda Dance, for the opportunity to be posted on Bobby’s actual page. Bobby then posted the photo in his own feed, with the caption “In celebration of my up coming release next week I will be posting your videos to my page.”

What first sounded like new music, is a coming home statement. The initial post Bobby shared includes a caption suggesting “6 days and a wake up.” Hopefully, we get both. Bobby’s friends that are spreading this message also shared that they got his page verified in the matter of two days. This crew is looking out for each other in every way possible, and could very well take over this hip-hop game upon Bobby’s release. Hopefully, everyone stays safe, and can continue to give us the Shmurda beats to dance to the pandemic away.
