Pharrell Williams for Louis Vuitton Men’s Creative Director

It has been a little over a year since the world lost extraordinary designer and creative, Virgil Abloh. Since then, those who favored Abloh have wondered who could ever take his place, as the Creative Director of Louis Vuitton. Earlier this week, Louis Vuitton announced just who that would be: Pharrell Williams.

Pharrell Williams is a hip-hop artist, a producer, successful business owner and what many would call a fashion icon. Pharrell does have his Human Race, the skin care line as well as sneakers and apparel through Adidas. Though many will still wonder, is he the right fit for Louis Vuitton?

"I am glad to welcome Pharrell back home, after our collaborations in 2004 and 2008 for Louis Vuitton, as our new Men's Creative Director," said Pietro Beccari, Louis Vuitton's chairman and CEO in a statement. "His creative vision beyond fashion will undoubtedly lead Louis Vuitton towards a new and very exciting chapter."

Louis Vuitton CEO will remind you that he did multiple collaborations in the past with the brand, specifically, sunglasses and jewelry. Now, he will lead a much larger role as the new Men’s Creative Director. Pharrell is said to begin his duties immediately, where his first collection will debut in June during Men's Fashion Week in Paris.

Is this the right fit for Louis Vuitton and Pharrell?
