MAD
3.14.23
EST Gee joined Yo Gotti’s CMG Label in January of 2021. Since then, he has been one of the stars amongst the group and collaborated with artists such as Jack Harlow, Lil Baby, Future, Jeezy and more. This Friday fans should expect a new project, which EST Gee is saying “is not for the industry.”
Promo for the project started a week ago, with videos from packed shows where EST Gee had performed. Yesterday, he finally shared the mixtape artwork along with the track list, which lets us know just why he has called the project, Mad. The first track of the mixtape is titled Pray You Die In Surgery. Sounds pretty deep, and a bit scary. You know EST Gee will be raw here, likely telling about some things he has seen in life that many people do not. Features include Young Scooter, Kada and Boosie Badass, who tends spark controversy with every headline. One thing you’d never expect to see on an album from a major industry label is a 25 Minute Freestyle. While track eight is titled as such, the freestyle is three minutes long, though with a story.
EST Gee has released the 25 Minute Freestyle early, and is currently available on iTunes and streaming platforms. On Instagram, EST Gee shared that he recorded the freestyle straight through, his computer crashed, and he ended up being able to reboot the computer and finish mastering the freestyle all in twenty-five minutes. Love a good backstory.
EST Gee’s project releases this Friday. Will this project stand out from the rest?
