Meek Mill, Wale

Meek Mill, Wale

Meek Mill posted a photo today and it has us hip-hop fans going crazy. I am not going to lie, I swiped by this in the timeline at first glance. You may have not been able to see what was going on at first and dismissed the image. However, this photo is important. This photo is giving me life. It is Meek Mill with Wale…and it is recent.

Meek Mill and Wale are two vital members of Rick Ross’s label MMG. I love the crew together so much. There is no love song like an MMG love song. Then, they know how to turn it on and turn it up at the same time. Wale has never made a bag song in his life. Meek Mill is one of the most exciting in the game. This duo is great, Rick Ross is a genius for getting them all together, however things have not always been diced pineapples amongst the crew.

The beef began in 2014, allegedly because Wale did not Tweet about Meek Mill’s album, Dreams Worth More Than Money. Meek shared tweets using Wale’s name, saying that he would not tweet about his album, that he had been hating for quite some time, and that he was not MMG. Wale responded to these Tweets on Instagram, with a long caption describing how he had always been supportive of Meek’s music, and as a person. He even had wished him a Happy Father’s Day that year. Well, when you call out your own teammate on social media, the whole label is under a microscope, so things did not really get any better amongst the crew.

For some reason, when a rapper is being interviewed, and their beef with someone else gets brought up, even if they have resolved everything, they just cannot seem to let their egos go. Meek and Wale had apparently made up multiple times, but after being interviewed on the subject multiple times, Wale said something Meek was not a fan of, and the two continued their dispute.

Rick Ross, the leader of the army, obviously was not thrilled with the fighting, but he kept it cool the entire time. Several times he spoke out on the matter saying these outbursts were just brotherly tiffs, and it was never anything but love. Just last year he spoke on the matter saying that he never chose sides because he never believed the fighting was anything too serious.

Well, now that the two are together, maybe the truce is actually real. We can tell this photo is recent, because the two are wearing masks in the image. The guys are both decked out in designer, but Meek has on a full head and face wrap, while Wale sports a classic blue medical mask and beanie. Meek captioned this photo:

“Me and @wale argued a thousand times & made millions together #MMGVIBES”

Considering during their beef, Meek Mill wrote #URNOTMMG in several of his posts, it is nice to see he is acknowledging they are all still a part of the same crew. It also really makes me want some new MMG.

Wale commented on the photo, insinuating they are making moves. Plenty other celebs in the industry commented saying that they are both very complicated, stern, men, but are happy the crew is back together again.

Wale reposted the image to his story, and also posted a snippet to a new song coming soon. Just himself was in the video, but he was wearing the same outfit, so Meek and Wale may have been recording together. Rick Ross later on shared the post to his story as well, so it sounds like Truce Round 100 is underway, and hopefully here to stay.
