T-Pain Nook’s Bells Released 9.18.20

T-Pain has made small attempts to return to the music game this year with singles like Can You Hear Me? and Get Up. The latest track topic’s is rather interesting, with the music visuals to match. Apparently, T-Pain is a huge fan the video game Animal Crossing, which has become quite the fad over the past year, as well.

T-Pain’s music video has him as one of the main characters from Animal Crossing, with other notable Twitch streamers involved as characters, as well. The lyrics to the song also draw back directly to the game, as T-Pain shares he will not accept loosing and of course, mentions Nooks Bells, which is a means of compensation within the game.

Now, I am not an Animal Crossing player whatsoever, but it does seem pretty intense. The gamers should love this song and get a kick out of the video, as T-Pain is seen battling his opponents, the two Twitch gamers. What is most important to note here, is how video games have so strongly encompassed their way into the culture, lifestyle and marketing plans of many.

Twitch players have become influencers, gamers have become tournament champions, brands are using these means for marketing, and where we are staying at home with the dangerous state of the world, people are playing video games more than ever. It seems like T-Pain found his favorite.

The song does not sound bad either. At one point T-Pain tried to come back with no autotune and it just did not feel right for what we know and love of him. This song reminds me of how he sounded when recording Up Down in 2014. I always thought T-Pain was for the children, even though plenty of his songs were on the scandalous end. I do wonder if this song is an attempt to cater to this audience, if it was a playful fun thing, or what. I am not sure if anything will ever overcome his hits from back in the day, but it is always great to hear new T-Pain.
