The 6ix9ine, Meek Mill Pop-Up
2.15.21
Many may have felt a bit at ease as Tekashi 6ix9ine has taken a bit of a break from social media for a while. However, about five days ago, he decided to preview a snippet of him in the studio, recording a new song. Well, where there is new music, comes insanely immature ways of getting all eyes on the rainbow haired artist, and he truly has hip-hop speaking his name once again. Over the long weekend, Tekashi 6ix9ine ran up on Meek Mill as he left a restaurant. He yelled at Meek, while being held back by his own security, calling him names and reciting a Pooh Shiesty bar suggesting he was carrying a weapon. What is the reason? Who really knows, but Meek Mill has an idea.
The snippet from 6ix9ine recording a new song seems to have already gotten the attention he wanted. He captions the video, “WHO READY FOR THE KING RETURN‼️‼️‼️ 100,000 COMMENTS IF YALL READY 🔥🔥🔥 ITS COMINGGGGGGGG “ With just about 190,000 comments, it seems like 6ix9ine already had the green light to go ahead and drop the song. The contents of the song, seem interesting when reflecting on what had just went down with the whole Meek Mill situation. “I pulled up to see where the energy at. I shot and robbed you and you didn’t do nothing back but make tracks.”
Now, 6ix9ine’s convictions do not exactly add up to what he is talking about here. But what is interesting is that he did pop up on Meek Mill over the weekend, suggested he was carrying a weapon, and after failing to cause a true fight of violence, clowned Meek Mill for the way that he handled the situation. It is unclear why he would be looking for a fight at this exact moment in time, other than the negative publicity he strives off of, but it makes sense for Meek Mill to think that he did this, looking for a trouble.
Meek Mill shared his side of the story in a series of Tweets. He stated that 6ix9ine had waited outside of a club for him and his crew to leave the building. In his opinion, he plotted this in order to start some sort of a fight, that would go viral, and potentially land the artist back in jail. Meek Mill has had plenty of run ins with the law, and it never seems to go in a positive way. After being put behind bars for two years for riding a bike in the streets, Meek was rightfully nervous to have this type of chaos pop up on him out of no where.
Meek did not choose violence, other than suggest that he did spit on Teksahi, but had to move on in hopes to not make things more dangerous. However, he does poke fun at the situation, saying that 6ix9ine yelled a Pooh Shiesty bar at Meek Mill in the middle of their confrontation. In the video snippets that have been leaked, you can hear 6ix9ine yell “got my own fire, don’t need security in the club” (as he is being held back by his own security) which is in fact a Pooh Shiesty bar from Back In Blood featuring Lil Durk. I for one find that hysterical, and the memes and jokes have certainly been circulating since.
Of course, Teskashi 6ix9ine would not let this battle end here. 6ix9ine took to Instagram to share some of his thoughts on what went down that evening. Though he has deleted since, of course you can catch up on all things here, and on The Shade Room, to follow exactly what went down. 6ix9ine shares images of Meek Mill from the video footage he received from the incident, suggesting that Meek was scared of him, causing the interaction to end with little action. It is quite clear that 6ix9ine had hopes of some trouble this night. The two have had some back and forth arguments on the internet, which seems to be the one reason we can say “why Meek,” but overall, just a baffling series of events.
While many may commend Meek Mill from walking away from the situation without turning violent, there are always going to be those who clown you for not putting hands on, what we call the rat of hip-hop. Wack 100, took to his Instagram page to do just that. He stated that if Meek Mill is really what his lyrics suggest, and if he was going to run down on Safaree at past award shows, why would he not choose violence when it came to the Rat pulling up on him? Wack truly seemed disgusted in Meek’s actions, and says “if you are worried about beef, then stop beefing.” Part of his comments are still live on Instagram here.
Meek did respond to these comments disappointed that Wack 100 is basically telling these kids to choose violence. Setting a bad example and leading the kids astray to think that it is okay to be violent if someone randomly pops up on you. While so much is at stake and security is involved, it just does not seem like something that would be necessary to choose violence for. I think Meek Mill made the right decision by walking away with little trouble involved, however, many fans are saying he is doing too much by addressing the situation on social media. We all know Meek Mill to be all over socials, but should he have kept quiet on went down? I think he pokes fun at the situation for the most part, but is definitely giving 6ix9ine more publicity than any of us needed.
