JID, Lil Yachty Van Gogh

Lil Yachty and JID team up for new single, Van Gogh, and the fans are going to eat this up. Lil Yachty has played with a number of different sounds, but his super tight, punchline, rap flow is back in this track. JID raps with his high pitch tempo, making this a duo fans would die to see the video for.

Sure enough, both artists appeared in the video throughout, and enjoyed the theme of the song. Van Gogh, is a famous artist, which was taken very seriously throughout the music video. There were ton of stop-motion GIFs throughout the video, which is a new form of camera art. There were also Van Gogh-esc styled paintings that would, at times, mimic the features of Lil Yachty and JID, and sing the lyrics to the song.

While the actual lyrics of the song were really just a bunch of words that flowed, as they typically are, Yachty ended the song with “This sh** art, Van Gogh.” which felt like a mic drop moment that pulled together the whole purpose of the track and video.

While this song was likely just a fun track to play on for the artists, music is a form of art and there are many hip-hop artists whom over the years expressed their interest for art legends like Van Gogh and other artists, designers, etc alike.

I personally have been a fan of both styles of art my entire life, so I appreciate the connections where they abide. The song is fun as well, and I am sure will really stick for fans of these two artists.
