Welcome to the States
6.7.22
The amount of violence and negativity in the airs the past few months has been tragic. There is a new demand for change, and while we hope we get there soon, nothing can change the past. In the meantime, there are somethings that we can to support the families whom lost their love ones to senseless acts of violence, and Benny the Butcher is giving an easy outlet to show you how.
The Griselda family have been repping Buffalo to the fullest throughout their careers, and have expressed their condolences on social and throughout their tour, many times since the Buffalo Grocery Store shooting. Yesterday, Benny the Butcher released a single, over the beat of Kendrick Lamar’s We Cry Together, all about how it feels living in the States during these times, and using it to give back to families as well.
New track titled, Welcome To The States, is listed as a Fundraiser on YouTube. You can donate directly to the fundraiser video, you can donate to the Buffalo 5-14 Survivors Fund, or, you can purchase a “Pray for Buffalo” t-shirt from the Black Soprano Family website, where Benny the Butcher will be giving all proceeds to the Buffalo 5-14 Survivors Fund.
The caption of the video gives the full details, as written below.
Listen to "Welcome to the States" by Benny the Butcher. Available only on YouTube only, Benny's politically charged lyrics, over the beat from "We Cry Together", aims to raise money for those affected by the tragic mass shooting and events that took place in Buffalo, NY on May 14th at Tops Supermarket. To support the victims of the Buffalo Mass Shooting, Benny is donating 100% of profits from the sale of a limited edition "Pray for Buffalo" T-Shirt to the "Buffalo 5-14 Survivors Fund": https://www.blacksopranofamily.com/
The "Buffalo Survivors Fund", established by the National Compassion Fund in partnership with Top's Supermarkets, has raised 2.5 Million dollars to date, all of which is paid directly to the survivors and victims of the mass shooting in Buffalo, NY. You can also donate directly to the "Buffalo 5-14 Survivors Fund" here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/buffalo-su...
Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated!
As the video opens, the screen shares a statement. There has been at least 233 mass shootings in the United States, just this year. That means, there have been more mass shootings in our country this year, then there have been days in this year. Truly, something that needs to quit.
If you have heard Kendrick’s song, We Cry Together, you probably thought to yourself, “this is a Griselda-ass-beat.” So naturally, Benny fit right in. Unfortunately, as a tear jerker track, because the content is all too real and too sad to smile about or bop your head at. However, it is obviously brilliant, and content that needs to be shared to drive awareness and help support those effected, and hopefully stop it from happening again, somehow.
So, run up the video, buy your tees, and donate to the Buffalo Survivors Fund, and any others that you are able to support during these times.
