Nike SB Dunk Low

‘Grateful Dead’

Release Date: TBD

Retail: TBD

Resell: TBD

Nike SB is back with another, perhaps unexpected, collaboration. The collaboration pays homage to the old rock band, Grateful Dead, specifically utilizing their bears logo. The bears were colorful and noticeably furry, with a fur scarf of a contrasting color. This Nike SB represents one colorway of these Grateful Dead bears, and it is pretty spot on. The vibrant green suede covers the upper, with matching green fur patches on every other panel. While the laces match this vibrant green, several other pieces contrast with the electric blue represented in the bear’s fur scarf. The bottom layer of the sole, the ‘Nike’ stitching on the heel, as well as the swoosh are all this electric blue color, while the swoosh also embodies a jagged edge like the fur of the bear. As one final detail, the tongue of the sneaker includes an image of the bear logo himself.

If you are a fan of the rock band, the shoes are great. Some fans were even asking for this shoe in the rest of the colors of the bears. I love the colors of this shoe, but this is too much to rock regularly. This does remind me of in middle school and high school when I used to wear crazy, loud, colorful sneakers. Maybe if it was back then I’d rock this, but who is going to pull this off today? I’d for sure say it will sell out and resell for a lot more, whenever Nike decides to release this. With that being said, it’s a shelf shoe, for sure.
