50 Cent or Ja Rule?

Ja Rule & 50 Cent via Capital Xtra

The Ja Rule and 50 Cent beef has been going on for as long as I can remember. Dating back to 1999, this is still one of the most relevant rap beefs today. Where did the beef all begin? Apparently in 1999 Ja Rule was robbed during a music video set from one of 50 Cent’s affiliates. However, Ja will tell you the other way around. Either way, these guys have gone back and forth at each other in music, in robbery, in money and violently, as well. There have been plenty of diss tracks, and fights seem to break out on site whenever they run into each other. 50 Cent was even stabbed in the midst of the two being consistently at war, where the police ended up filing a protection order for 50 Cent against Ja Rule and Irv Gotti in 2002. A twenty-one year old beef between now grown men, this can’t still be the case, can it?

At one point in time, we thought the two could co-exist and be civil humans. However, 50 Cent did take on this “troll” personality on the internet, and he may have taken things back left. After the complete disaster of the Fyre Festival Ja Rule attempted to create, 50 Cent took the internet to troll him on the epically failed experience. The two get into it, and the beef reignites. Petty right? But how petty can you be? One of the most petty, and my favorite diss of all time, happens in 2018, in the midst of the continuous rap beef. Ja Rule has a show in Las Vegas, and 50 Cent buys out the first 200 seats in the crowd. So, this looks like he is performing to absolutely nobody. Seriously, an amazing tactic. I hear that tour money mostly goes to production and the venue, so I do not really think he was giving Ja any of his money by doing this, either.

This battle is currently rising to the surface again, with intense popularities of Instagram Live battles. Most of the time they are fun and just two icons going head to head giving everyone a great show. However, there are always the people calling each other out. Like the French Montana and Young Thug beef. 2 Chainz trying to pick his own battle, and other rappers not having it. Well, of course the internet wants the 50 Cent and Ja Rule battle. Suddenly, Ja is back on the internet claiming his win over the rap beef. 50 Cent claims if they’re going hit for hit, Ja Rule doesn’t have any at all, other than ones where in which he features with a female. He also recently told Irv Gotti to run him his money, so the battle is intense, ladies and gentlemen.

If we should go hit for hit, what the radio and the people know and love. Let’s break it down nicely.

It seemed too harsh to completely go hit for hit, because I think that is a bit disrespectful to Ja. I did not want to do that, because I do love his lady features. So, this is just the top few from the early 2000s. As much of a complete troll that 50 Cent is today, and the questionable decisions he’s made in this decade. Hit for hit, the winner is: 50 Cent.
