Gucci Mane So Icy Summer Release Date 7.3.20

Gucci Mane has been making headlines throughout the timeline of the pandemic, due to his crazy out of pocket tweets. We have seen this from the old Gucci, but we are concerned why these comments are coming from the new Gucci. Perhaps, they are antics to push a bigger deal. If that is the case, they are working.

Multiple tweets have shared that Gucci Mane wishes death by coronavirus on his haters. He has also called out multiple people and brands racist, including the luxury brand Gucci, and his own label, Atlantic Records. Previously, Gucci stated that after he dropped on July 3rd, he would leave Atlantic Records and become an independent artist.

Since these messages, Gucci has been great about updating us every step of the way. Firstly, by asking his fans if they think Gucci should go independent. The comments were almost one hundred percent "yes,” Gucci Mane should go independent. The few others, suggested he do what is best for himself.

Gucci Mane has 1017, and it would be really interesting to see how they would work together if Gucci went completely independent. Though, I think he has a lot on his plate and a great team behind him, that does a great job at ensuring everything he drops is successful.

The next tweet is a comment that Gucci Mane will be receiving his own brand at Gucci, the luxury store. He mentioned, “I hope they are not lying,” so it seems a conversation was definitely had. After calling the brand a “slight racist,” perhaps they reached out to Gucci Mane, whose rap name derives directly from the luxury brand, and proposed some sort of a deal with him to change his opinion on their name. We will have to wait and see, but if this is a brand new partnership, it could take some time to actually see any merchandise.

Earlier today, Gucci Mane took to Twitter to share his decision to remain an artist at Atlantic Records.  He respects artists who do go independent, but he is sticking with his team. This tweet closes with an apology to Atlantic for the harsh language previously, and says it is all 1017 and Atlantic together.

A few days prior, he did share a tweet saying “Stand for something or fall for anything.” I have to say I do not think Gucci Mane’s hustling mantra has completely gone away. I think he knew what he was doing with both these deals. If nothing else, we are all ready for this So Icy album to drop on Friday.

The album features all of the new 1017 crew, Future, Young Thug, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Young Nudy, Moneybagg Yo, Tay Keith, and many more. With these twenty-four tracks, I am anticipating a new summer playlist.

Overall, I think Gucci Mane is making the right decision by staying with Atlantic. Though I am sure he would love to, no one can do everything on their own.
