Lil Pump is a Rockstar

Just a couple of days ago, Lil Pump shared a photo on Instagram that he had shaved off his eyebrows. I have seen numerous people cutting their hair or shaving their head during this time being locked up in the house. That is totally fine, we cannot go to our barbers right now, and it’s healthy to give your hair a cut every now and then. Shaving your eyebrows, on the other hand, is typically a cry for help. Or, a sign of insanity. Lil Pump says he did it because of Tiger King. I do not know what the Netflix series has to do with shaving your eyebrows, I just think Lil Pump has gone mad.

On top of the new look, Lil Pump is also engaging with a new sound. Remember when Lil Wayne made his rock album? I absolutely hated it, but I would prefer that over this complete nonsense, any day of the year. Whether or not Lil Pump is serious about this, I do not know, but yes, he released us a snippet of his new rock song. He is calling it “Pump Rock” and it was basically him screaming “punk rock shit” over a beat, and trying to get people to mosh. Honestly, he seems more like a punk kid than a rapper, but either way the music is just terrible.

As I’ve raised my concerns with this man’s emotional health and state of mind, it seems like others in the hip-hop community may be feeling the same way. The Instagram page @Rap, shared the snippet of Lil Pump’s Pump Rock song, as well as some interesting comments they found. Rapper and producer Russ commented on the video saying “Someone who cares bout him needs to call him ASAP.” Russ is known for trolling others any time he can, so he was probably just being rude, but I do not blame him for the comment. Changing your look is always a sign of drastic emotion, and Lil Pump is taking it to the extreme here. Obviously this rock genre is more emotional as well. Lil Pump literally went from rapping about strippers to slitting his wrist. Though I think this line is just a cliche stereotype for people in this kind of music, which also rhymed with what he was saying, you can never be sure what is going on inside someone else’s head.

Lil Pump responded to the message saying “@Russ your sister called to check I’m all good ;)” So, it seems like Lil Pump is really just messing around and in good spirits. At least, that is what he is presenting to the world. Perhaps he is just super bored and crazy. If he does put out a rock song or album, I’ll definitely take a listen, just to check up on him and make sure he’s okay. Man, 2020 is rough.
