Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show

Back in September, the Pepsi Halftime show was announced that the Super Bowl Halftime show would consist of several heavy hitters in the hip-hop space. With just about three weeks until the Super Bowl will take place at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, the trailer has been released for what is sure to be one of the most epic Halftime shows of all time.

Dr Dre will lead the Pepsi Halftime Show with friends Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J Blige. It has been a crazy few years for Dr Dre, battling through his divorce and health issues that occurred along the way. Snoop Dogg just entered a tremendous new phase of his career with a new role at Def Jam Records. All other members continue to impress their fans, while being around for many years, with new records, businesses and appearances. This performance is sure to be one for the books, and the trailer already has us all beyond excited.

The trailer for the Super Bowl LVI Pepsi Halftime Show, highlights each individual artist, in their own element, getting a text or call to come through to the stadium for a performance, where they all end up together as one giant force. Throughout the trailer, in-between guest appearances, is a golden chess board, each move representing an artist. The chess pieces turn into buildings in the area that the artist is located in, then introduced in a more intimate space.

Eminem is the first artist appearing within the video. Of course, he is in his studio as Eminem, and battling with his younger self, Slim Shady, through means of different lyrics being written into the air throughout the clip. As he gets a next, the old alter-ego evaporates, and Eminem hops on a plane.

Next up is Snoop Dogg, whom is obviously cruising down the street in style. Upon his text message, he whips the ultimate U-Turn, waves at some ladies, and makes his way to the stadium. Mary J Blige is up next, getting glammed up at a photoshoot, with her images plastered throughout Time Square billboards. She gets her text and dashes off in her new Bugatti, all the way to LA.

As you can imagine, Kendrick Lamar is wearing all black, sitting a desk with nothing else in the room, writing. There is no ceiling in the room, so he writes, throws the paper up in the air, and repeats. Over, and over again until the clouds are filled with his words and writing.

Obviously Dre is the last solo act from the video. He wears a black trench coat, as he walks along the beach. The waves turn into keys, to play one of his most infamous songs, Still D.R.E.

Everyone pulls up to the stadium. Dre on foot, Kendrick on a bike, Eminem in a plane, Mary J Blige in her Bugatti and Snoop in his drop-top hydraulic whip. As they walk together up to the stadium, the dome cover holds to logo for the Super Bowl LVI Pepsi Halftime Show.

I truly got chills watching this trailer. It seems like hip-hop at the Super Bowl has yet to have this big of a presence, and will be an epic show.
