Last night, millions of viewers tuned into to the highly anticipated Travis Scott Fornite concert. If you’ve read my review on ‘Look Mom I Can Fly,’ you’ll know that I am not the biggest Travis Scott fan in the world, and that I think all of his fans are absolutely insane. These kids are moshing at his concerts, they are literally breaking their legs. They are jumping from things and going absolutely insane over how much they love this man. To me, I do not understand this. Travis mostly sings in auto-tune, I usually don’t know what he saying. So what is so incredible about this man? Let me know if you have the answers.

Personal opinions aside, I miss concerts. I actually saw Travis Scott live in concert when he opened up for Rihanna’s Anti Tour. I will say, it is a great show. Anyone who cares just as much about the display and the experience, as the actual performance, is a great entertainer. I wish that Travis did not encourage kids to do stupid things where they end up seriously injuring themselves. However, I know that he is going to put his all into this Fortnite concert- whatever that means.

Obviously Fornite is an extremely popular video game. Gaming, esports and all kinds of streaming platforms have become greatly popular in marketing, and another way for consumers to chat and hangout together. Especially during times where we must stay at home, people are using these kinds of platforms for entertainment and connecting with their friends. As Instagram Live has been booming with live entertainment, Travis Scott decides to take this to the next level.

Statistics show that over 12 million viewers logged into the Fortnite concert. The concert was pure animations. Travis Scott in the form of a giant, transitioning into different forms throughout the set. Of course, he was wearing his Travis Scott Air Jordan 1s on feet. It looks like there was an Astroworld fixture behind him as he performed, as he stomps all over the Earth beneath him, like he is Godzilla. Viewers can see their Fornite avatars experiencing the concert and enjoying themselves as if it were real life. The graphics and the colors were pretty beautiful. A job well done.

I do think it is neat what Fortnite and Travis pulled off. I wonder how long it took them to do this, because of how crazy the graphic treatment was. Travis also took the time from this performance to release his new song ‘The Scott’s’ featuring Kid Cudi, which is now out everywhere.

Later that evening, Travis Scott took to Twitter to say how inspiring the show was, and to be raging with his fans once again. This definitely wasn’t a live performance with Travis singing live that lasted all night. It was computerized and lasted 10-15 minutes. But nonetheless, a really cool moment for Travis, his fans, and technology.

Word is if you missed out, there will be encore performances this weekend.
