Shannon Brown was on the Championship Los Angeles Lakers team of 2009 and 2010. He went on to play for a few different teams after, ultimately leaving the NBA after his 2015 season. Earlier this week, the former NBA athlete has been arrested and charged with one account of aggravated assault, for firing a rifle in the direction of a couple, whom he claims was trespassing into his home.

There have been some strange things happening lately. The Eminem break in, the self-defense case with Hightower, it is just a crazy world we’re living in. This story seems quite strange, and I am not ready to choose a side yet, because it just does not add up. If someone enters your home unannounced and unwelcome, of course your first instinct would be to protect yourself. No, you cannot kill someone unless they have actually threatened your life, but how can you just assume the intruder won’t, right away? Well, either way, the intruders are claiming this was somewhat of an open house.

Allegedly, there was a for sale sign in Shannon’s yard. According to the couple in which the rifle was aimed at, they gate was open, and as they entered they were immediately attended to on the property. Then, the door was open and as the couple walked in and announced themselves, someone said “Come on in.” Maybe Shannon has a large house, and he was not aware of what was going on at the time. Though, I do not believe for a moment that there were people helping the couple look around the house and no one notified Shannon that they would be doing home tours.

This seems like a messed up way to ask to keep your home. Either this couple is fabricating their story, or something is seriosuly up with Shannon. We’ll keep updated as the story unfolds.
