Thank You, Tom Brady

I really did not think I would have to write this. Less than a month ago, I wrote about how I was so sure this would not happen. Even watching the news, when the Chargers said they thought they were out of the running, because “Tom Brady had a change of heart,” I was like what does this mean? Apparently it means he wants to stay on the East Coast, and decides to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

NFL Free Agency has been going off the past few days. The way people were moving around, many thought Brady would go to LA. Word is that he had a change of heart going back to the West Coast, when he has a son in New York. With the need to stay on the East Coast and be close to family, after twenty seasons with the with the New England Patriots, Brady has finalized an agreement to join the Buccs with a contract of $30 million per year.

I remember being in the third grade, and my teacher asking everyone “who do you think the Patriots will start today, Drew Bledsoe or Tom Brady?” At the time, I was just a little girl who really just listened to her dad watch football. I was like Bledsoe all the way! No new quarterback! Then when he went in, it was all over from there. Every year prior in elementary school on Patriots Day, I had worn my dad’s Bledsoe t-shirt, it was literally a dress on me. After that year, I asked for my own Tom Brady jersey. My dad got me an all black and white jersey. It’s pretty dope looking. My mom who teaches elementary actually still wears when she has sports days.

New England fans have been lucky to have TB as our quarterback over the past twenty years, taking us to the Super Bowl time and time again. It has been pretty much my entire life, literally all that I can remember. I am shocked, and heartbroken that he is leaving us. But these memories we’ll have forever. I think the Patriots will be fine, we still have Bill. But just say we go into a drought like the Red Sox after Babe Ruth left. We’ll get to tell our grandkids how we were six-time Super Bowl Champions, and front runners every year, during our time with a GOAT named Tom Brady.

Tom’s messages to his fans, and the Patriots organization.

So, we’ll see what Brady can do for the Bucs. TB is off to TB. Who will be the new Patriots quarterback? Maybe Cam Newton comes through and shocks the world. Think he’s pretty heated about his current situation and I think Bill could whip him right back into shape. I also wouldn’t mind getting to see him in his crazy outfits more often. Hopefully it’s not a Winston, we’re not used to those interceptions over here. I guess we will, unfortunately, have to find that out soon.

Thank you for everything, TB12.
