Styling A Weather Protective Sneaker

12.31.20

PUMA has been partnering with Central Saint Martins for a number of season collections. Their latest, includes a take on the PUMA Kyron sneaker. The Kyron is known for its interesting sole and traction shape, which is exaggerated in this version. In this version, the top is a canvas hightop, and the sole is rubber, making it look like it is ready to weather the storm. While looking like you could run through puddles or mountains, of course, we can dress it up, too.

A Battle to Remember

Yes, I bought the merch from the Gucci Mane vs. Jeezy Verzuz battle. I could go on and tell you that I love concert memorabilia, so I just had to. And how much the battle meant to me. But when it comes to fashion, this look just works. Matching sweat suits have been the look of 2020, along with your oversized graphics. The back of the hoodie has a bit of orange with the flames, which makes it the perfect match for these kicks with just a hint of orange. The sweats cinch on the ankles, so you can leave them at the perfect height for your hightop sneakers. Toss on your beanie for the coziest vibe of the season.

A Peachy Sight

When a shoe is minimalistic with just a hint of color, you have fun with your outfit playing on the color. This orange jumpsuit pairs well with a thin white piping stripe on each side of the jumpsuit. The ankles are skinny enough to tuck right into the hightop boot. Layer with your matching teddy coat, a beanie and matching backpack, and you are ready to take on the day. From errands to a dinner, game or outing, you are set to serve looks.

Buckle Up

This top is also from the PUMA x Central Saint Martins collaboration. It is super cool, as it ties around the waist, and has an orange buckle that closes the wrap. The top is super flattering, and goes perfectly with a black legging, black beanie, and your Kyron sneaker boots of the same color way. This look is casual, but fierce. Rock this anytime you can really flex your fit.

Cozy Chic

Layering and color-blocking come into play big here. The sneakers are mostly neutral, a black sole and an off-white upper. There is no way to go wrong with the black denim and black bodysuit to keep the cool, classy look. There are some subtle details like the tag on the sneaker, which are orange. Here, you have to be careful with bringing color into the look, but color blocking with a nice blue outer layer is the perfect way to go. You can rock this look to the bar, dinner, or wherever your night leads you.

For the Love of Water

It is imprinted on several parts of the sneaker, “for the love of water.” I titled this look it, because of the icy drip itself (lol). When working with a high skinny boot, you cannot go wrong with a skinny denim. The fur t-shirt continues to prepare us for the extreme weather, as the sneakers do, and then we will bling it up quite a bit for attraction. Throw on a nice blinged out necklace and a crossbody with some shine, and you are ready to bring in the new year, fresh and bright.

The Classic Canvas

An all white canvas is something I used to be quite afraid of, but this year have learned to embrace. This sweater dress is the form fitting and flattering as anything, with a neck collar to shine through any layering. I fell in love with this shirt-jacket, that looks casual but is the perfect layering piece for chilly weather. With that, these kicks pair well with the off-white canvas upper, and weather-proof traction. Sleek, cute, and fashionable as ever for your night out, no matter what the weather.
