Styling the Nike Dunk Low x Verdy Wasted Youth

4.30,21

Although there were dozens of Ls taken on the SNKRS app so far this year, I did come home with one win, which was the Nike Dunk “Wasted Youth.” If I am being honest, I was not in love with them at first sight on the app, but once I received them in real life, it happened. They are stunning. A black wash denim with different patches, mixed with leather textiles. Subtle hints of red in accent stitching. “Wasted” on one heel, and “Youth” stitched into the other. Then, my favorite, the rose embroidered on the inside upper. The Dunk Low is an essential, and this rendition is a funk textile mash up that you can pair with just about anything.

Summer Time Fine

So not only are biker shorts back in style, but so are bucket hats. I never thought I would be able to pull them off, until I tried them. I am a firm believer in if you want to rock something, do it, but do it with confidence. Then, everyone else is going to wonder how you pulled it off. The biker short set and bucket hat clearly have the three colors the sneakers do, making them a perfect match. I would definitely rock this look on the beach or the boardwalk or wherever you are going outdoors on a warm and sunny day.

New Music Friday

New Music Friday is back again. Since the Dunks have so many different textiles, I thought it would be fun to play with that in this look as well. Dressing up an oversized crewneck is always fun, so grab your faux leather pants and your clutch, and get ready to take not the day. This is a perfect look for causal dinners, breweries or wherever the hangout spot is for the night.

Graphic Match Up

Dressing up oversized sweaters are fun, but dressing up graphic tees and are even better. I have a serious love for Slim Shady, and this is one of my favorite graphic tees. You get the Super Man vibes from the colors and the comic book design, so overall it is fun and so many things you can do with the colors. I would tuck in this graphic tee to some high waisted pants, as you can see here. Then, throw on a cute top layer. I recommend offsetting the black on black if your tee and denim are black like shown here. Then of course accessorize and you are ready to go. The red in the rose matches with the red tones in the graphic, and the white mid sole balances out the light top layer with the other dark pieces. This is your causal day-to-day look, you can rock just about anywhere.

Fancy Seeing You Here

One of my favorite rompers here is this fitted bodysuit romper, with pipping on the bodice. It makes for a flattering more sophisticated look, so you can dress it up and accessorize as you please. Adding some bling really makes the rose pop and the shoes feel elevated along with the rest of this look. This is for your night outs, your fancy dinners, wherever you can really dress to impress, and maybe wow a bit.

Rosey and Ready

Another way to accent the rose on the sneaker, and bring some color into your life, is if you do have access to a red top layer. This red cord jacket actually did come with a matching skirt, which could also totally work here. In this instance, I wanted a fitted black jumpsuit or maxi dress, to then pair with a red top layer. This could be a jacket like I have, or a sweater or whatever suits best. Pending on your choose to style and accessorize, this look could take you anywhere. The options are truly endless.

Summertime Valentine

Finally, taking the color to the extreme. This set here is one of my favorites, and I do not wear red often. The skirt is a wrap skirt with a wide open split. Though long sleeve sweater material, the sweater is super light weight. This is an outdoor dinner look, late night walk on the beach (maybe holding your sneakers in that case) but truly a perfect match. I’m also feeling a fit pic here because how cute to wear a red sweater skirt set with roses on your sneakers?!
