Styling the Nike Vaporwaffle Sacai

11.27.20

Nike and Sacai have had their fare share of fare share of drops that are all interesting and unique. The Vaporwaffle might be one of the most daring, with the double swoosh, double tongue, double lace, peeled apart sole and mesh upper. What is the purpose of all of these unique elements, other than the be different? Who really cares, because that is what fashion is about, if you ask me.

I am absolutely obsessed with these sneakers, as not only are they cool and different, but also, very well wearable. Usually brands feel like they have to be unorthodox and give you something that is barely wearable to be different. Nike x Sacai has this down pat, because these could easily be the coolest sneakers in your closet, and the ones you wear the most.

Mitchell & Ness About It

Vintage sportswear is such a trend right now, and Mitchell & Ness has new, quality materials that are right in line with that trend. This crewneck is the softest sweater I own, with super nice color blocking stripes on each elbow patch, with a mini logo stitched into the chest. I would pair this comfortably sized crewneck with my chunky navy purse to match with the stripes and stitching, which goes well with the slim - yet chunky - sneakers. It is casual but cute, and could be worn any day of the week for a casual day or errands or quick coffee meet up.

Cloudy Days

It has been a mainly rough year indoors, so loungewear has become key. You want to look cute and still be productive, so you just need to get up and get out of those PJs, even if you are working from your bedroom. This loungewear set from Urban Outfitters is really cute and comfortable, just like these kicks. You could rock this around the house for a girls night in, a coffee run in the morning, or when you are just being lazy at home but really need to get back to work.

Shot Caller

There is nothing like being super cute and super sporty. I got it from Sporty Spice. Mitchell & Ness also offers some official league merchandise from your favorite teams, in lady sizes. So, you do not have to wear oversized baggy clothes when you are looking to rep your favorite team. To dress it up a bit, I have this chunky purse and super cute scrunchy for a high pony look. I would rock this look to flex just a little bit at any event. I have worn to house get togethers, which seems most fitting during winter times.

Can’t See The Hate

Whoever is still hating on dressing up sneakers, is just wrong. This look could literally be worn out at night to the bars, a dinner at a nice restaurant, and so on. I love the black top with white pants to break up and accent the multiple muted tones of the kicks. Speaking of muted? Let’s add in a mid-length camouflage jacket, with some white details to really pull it all together. Spice it up with some jewelry, and you are ready to take on the night.

Back In Black

Of course, you can never go wrong with the black dress and leather jacket. This is another that can easily be worn on an occasional event, or nice little dinner. The skirt has a slit to easily show off the sneakers when walking, and the sweater material offsets the mesh upper of the sneaker a bit, so you are totally cleared to wear this, though it is getting a bit chilly out. A lady in all black is not one to mess with, this is your classy yet sporty late-night-out look.

Love Lockdown

Being in lockdown over the holidays is tough, but who doesn’t love to get dressed up from home to keep the traditions alive? This sweater set from Abercrombie is super comfortable, form fitting just right, and really beautiful all around. The light blue is almost a gray tint, which pulls out the subtle grays in the sneakers between the bold blacks and whites. A chunky purse and some jewelry will really pull this look tighter. I was a bit lazy for Thanksgiving, but this might be my Birthday Party Indoors, or Christmas outfit, once December comes very shortly. Fashion never sleeps.
