Styling the Nike Waffle Racer ‘Crater’

12.4.20

The Nike Waffle Racer Crater is one of their latest sustainable models. The heel and outsole of the shoe is made with recycled materials that are visually recognized as a dark gray and speckled material. The upper is nylon, which just totally makes sense to be neon colors at the same time. Nike is getting ready to launch a white color way with a blue swoosh, which is cute. But what I really love about these shoes is how different they are.

I purchased these mainly because I really wanted to try out this recycled technology. On top of that, I love the way the sole looks. Neon green is my favorite color. While you know I am not much of a pink girl, I think the pairing looks really good, and I am always up for a challenge. Can you rock these? Can you dress them up? Of course you can! Here are some of the ways I have styled the Nike Waffle Racer Crater.

Blinding Lights

Casual, but attention grabbing - a vibe. This look is cozy and daring, for when you want to make a statement but are just too tired to do anything super extra with your appearance for the day. I would wear this if I was going hang at a friends house, or if you were running errands in your hometown and you know you are going to run into someone you want to look somewhat put together together. It is comfortable, cute and colorful. Radiant that positive energy we all need during these times.

Eastside Special

Dresses year round on the East Coast? (at least for me) I found this baseball-tee dress and was literally shocked with how perfect this matches these sneakers. The draw string is a neon yellow/green rope with some pink details. The ‘East’ logo on the left chest is outlined in neon pink. This is just the absolute perfect natch. The dress is super loose and cozy, while the soles of these sneakers could not be more comfortable. Truly, the best on the go look. I’m envision a fit pick outside of Starbucks with my latte and some shades.

A Sporty Scandal

There is so much we can do with athleisure nowadays, and that is what I live for. I would not pin point anyone who started it, but in the high-end fashion industry, females have really normalized dressing up sporty clothes, and vice versa. I am obsessed with the look of a fitted tank top or body suit, with the baggy nylon track pants. Though a sweater around your waist, accessorize a bit, and throw on your best kicks. In this case, our kick are brining in that pop of color, for an overall comfy and head-turning look for your everyday errands and adventures.

Colorwash

This jumpsuit is another perfect match for the barely volt colorway of these kicks. The jumpsuit is fitted at the top and baggy on the bottom, for a super cute but cozy look. You can cinch the pants to cover the sneakers, or show them off. I would throw on this jacket to keep warm, and an extra layer piece of bold fashion. This look screams confidence and a bit of bravery, if I am being honest. I would rock this to a chill night out, for sure, during these quiet party times.

Jumpsuit, Sneakers, Repeat

Kind of like the three Rs, reduce, reuse, recycle? I am always looking for ways to reduce the amount of items I have to pull together for a full outfit. This jumpsuit is the cutest because it is obviously one piece, with a deep V so you can wear it as is or with a lacey tank or bralette underneath. The bow tie is super long so you can let it hang in the back, or tie it around again and make the bow in the front. There are so many ways that you could accessorize with this look, so it is the perfect one-piece-look to throw on and be able to wear it in so many ways. That wraps up reuse, as well! Of course, the sneakers are made from recycle materials, so we have the three R’s covered with this look. I love the the gray jumpsuit ties in with the bottom of the sneakers, and that the neon colors will really pop through the baggy leg when walking.

Neon Color Block

Sometimes we forget about color blocking, and it really makes a statement when you can do so with your crazy colored kicks. Neon colors are difficult, and pink especially. I love this blue tone together with these colors, that softens out the brightness and just sits well next to each other. With this set, you kind of want to dress it up while being cozy. I like the tones the two pieces together bring, and some jewelry will make you shine even a bit brighter. Another really positive vibe energy look with the the abundance of color. I would love to rock this look to a casual dinner or brunch, or perhaps hanging around for the holidays.
