Styling with Neon Kicks

7.9.20

The PUMA RS-X is one of the most comfortable sneakers I have even worn. They also come in a wide variety of colors, and different levels of chunkiness to the soles. Of course while being comfortable, you still want to style. One of my favorite pairs of RS-X is the Mercedes AMG Petronas RS-X³. PUMA has a ton of motorsport collaborations, and the Mercedes merchandise is always dope. This version of the RS-X³ is an all-over neon yellow, with the Mercedes tag on the back heel, and the silver Mercedes emblem replacing the pull tab.

Though this color may be a threat to some, there are plenty of ways to wear this sneaker. No matter what the sneaker is, this is the area you are supposed to have fun and show off your personality. So, grab your craziest color pair of kicks, and check out this summer color look-book.

Barbie World

I have been dying to share this set on the page. This is a full PUMA look, including the Barbie collaboration. There is a specific shoe that ties back to the suite, but to be honest, it’s too plain and white. I pulled out the yellow from this interesting pattern on pieces of the jacket and short, and matched it with the neon shoes. When you have lots of color up top, you match it with one solid color down the bottom. The white and blue helps to color block and dull down the extent of the vibrancy. A bold, cozy look for sure.

Turn The Lights On

I love an all black wardrobe. I have light skin, and it is just my favorite color to wear. But again, your feet are where you get to have some fun. Be bright on feet, to make your outfit complete. I always cuff my denim to show off the kicks. This top is loose and off the shoulder for a super cute, but subtle look. I usually wear this look to a dinner, but could also work at your town bar, shopping day, etc.

Approach With Caution

Chunky sneakers and a long dress are such a thing. You could wear this classic long tank top dress with just the sneakers and be killing it. If it is a bit breezy out, or if you are trying to be a bit more athlesurie with your dress, you can pull in the color into your track jacket. Throw it on, put it around your waist, maybe a combination of both throughout the night. This cute backpack is perfect for the looks' vibes to carry your card and phone. Perfect for a brunch, boat cruise, boujee trip to the zoo or museum, whatever people do for fun.

Spice Up Your Life

Probably my favorite look on here. The bodysuit-short combo alone is fire. This body suit is a light ribbed material, so it fits really nice. The closures on the front are hook and eyes, which gives it an interesting look and easy ability to adjust to your body’s liking. Also, the swoop neck makes it extremely comfortable. When you go tight on top, the bottom needs to do the opposite. These high-waisted faux leather shorts are just the right amount of boxy shape to keep it cute and not too showy at all. Continuing the boxy theme on the bottom, carry this boxy handbag, with your chunky sneakers that will brighten up this already spicy outfit.

Shine Bright Like A Diamond

Similar to the above, but a bit more beachy and flowy. This romper is perfect for summer days on the boardwalk or barbecues in the backyard. Absolutely effortless, but very appealing. You can always throw a bralette or a tee underneath if the plunge does not work for you. Overall, a very flattering, chill look. Hold your matching clutch and throw on some stacked bracelets for your bling, and the kicks for your shine. The world is yours.

No Apologies

This Anthropologie jumpsuit is everything. A dark gray wash that from a far has a subtle denim look, but is exactly a nice cozy cotton material. the pinching at the waist and the cut of the legs make this jumpsuit super flattering. The buttons make the top look adjustable, while the ties on the exposed pockets are just the cutest things. There is some slight color on the sticking details from the pocket ties and the buttons, in which I felt we could use to bring in the color of these sneakers. Really, you can wear this jumpsuit with any pair of shoes, to any type of occasion. I would wear this look to work, to dinner, the movies, an appropriate event, the options are endless.
