Suits and sneakers, a trend that was once frowned upon. A jaw dropper on the Red Carpet. A sign of unprofessionalism, or not knowing how to dress. Today, all those things are long out the door. Sneakers have become a staple today, to one’s wardrobe. The biggest flex in your whole outfit, could be what you’re wearing on your feet. There is a chance that your sneakers are reselling for more than your entire outfit. If done the right way, suits and sneakers are a hott trend.

Suits themselves have become something you can dress down and wear to your chill job, a brunch date, or a night out. Wearing them with sneakers, shows confidence, range in style, a sense of comfortability in who you are, where you are, what you’re doing. It can give your professional look a bit of a laid back vibe, a pop of color if needed, a bit of flavor to your life.

I tend to think, a sleek, skinny cut jean looks nice with a Clyde or Stan Smith, the classic, low-cut, thinner silhouettes. If you’re going for the oversized jacket or oversized pant suite, this is definitely where you can play with the chunky sneaker trend. If you’re dressing it up or just wearing a jacket with a bandeau, the chunky sneaker is the way to go. The cropped pant or the rolled up ankle gives you the chance to show off your favorite mid-top kicks.

I would recommend you wearing your clean, nice pair of kicks with your suit, when you’re trying this at home. The shoes should still elevate your look, not make you look crazy. I have a few pant suites and short suits that I wear a variety of chunky sneakers with to work. One of my favorite outfits I need to place to wear it to, is a black blazer, black biker shorts, a white tank, and my Force is Female Nike AF1 HI UT. If you won’t take my word for it, here are plenty of examples from a regular day, to the Red Carpet.
