The Purple Louis Vuitton Denim Suit
2.15.20
I can not get enough of this purple denim Louis Vuitton suit. The ‘Monogram Denim Jacket’ retailed for $2,010. Since it has sold out, you can still find it on Grailed for $3,000+. If you’re into matching sets like I am, you can also search for the ‘Monogram Slim Jeans’ which sold out retail at $1,060. I found them reselling for not too much more on BuyMA, which looks like a Japanese retail site. Not that you’re going to buy this, but maybe you’re a flexer and wanted to give it a try.
Usually we see two people wearing the same outfit and freak out. How could they show up in the same outfit, who wore it better, how did they differentiate with accessories, etc. I am so confused why I found FIVE celebrities wearing the same suit. Above you can see DJ Khaled, PJ Tucker, Quavo, 2 Chainz and James Johnson, all rocking the purple Louis Vuitton Monogram Denim suit - in purple. I wonder if this was a giant seeding initiative from Virgil. I wouldn’t doubt the organic overwhelming support, but the suit also comes in a dark blue denim, so I just think it is interesting that everyone is wearing this crazy purple.
DJ Khaled wears the full suit with a graphic tee and black sneakers with some colored graphics on the toe box. I think it’s funny seeing a big man in such a stand out color, but he does it quite consistently, and I think it works just fine.
PJ Tucker wore just the jacket, with black denim and the Nike Air Yeezy 2 Puple/Red. I love a two-piece set, but obviously PJ has to come through with the best kicks for every outfit. The purple and red Nike Air Jeezy 2 is the perfect shoe for this jacket, and you definitely have to break it up with the pants in between, so I’m digging this look.
Quavo wore the whole set, and buttoned up the jacket with a plain white tee underneath. He paired this with a ton of ice, of course, and some chunky designer sneakers. I would say this was a more causal take on the fit, but even his glasses have diamonds on the rims. I’ll leave my rating here as: drip.
2 Chainz wore his on stage for a performance. He wore the whole suit, which was broken up quite nicely with a white tee that fell longer than than the jacket. He also wore a white baseball cap and white hightop Versace (pretty sure) sneakers. He made this purple suit look so dope, I would have to say hands down 2 Chainz is the winner.
James Johnson. I don’t know. A part of me hates this so much, but a part of me thinks it is fashion. James wore just the jacket. Underneath, he wore a baby blue graphic tee and a baby blue Louis Vuitton scarf to match. He wore these with navy blue team sweatpants, a red Goyard duffle, and Jordan 1 Retro Chicago’s. I think I hate it. There is way too much going on and absolutely none of it matches.
