Babytron 100 Bars 6.7.23

Babytron is one of the most interesting artists in hip-hop. And in a good way; coming off of XXL Freshman Class 10th Spot Winner in 2022, Babytron proves his fans love what he is doing with his music. The same can be said for Cole Bennett, as he shares the latest video, of course produced by Lyrical Lemonade, is one of his favorites in a while. Babytron’s new single 100 Bars doesn’t miss a beat.

There have been many artists release songs titled 100 Bars, previously. If you are like me, you probably stop and played the song each bar to count if they really put together 100 bars. Babytron makes the counting easy for you, especially in this new music video. Cole Bennett is an extremely talented producer, so watching the Behind the Scenes for the music video is almost as fun as watching it put together.

The music video starts with Andy Milonakis in an integration room, with himself. One Andy tells the other, I have 100 suspects, can you identify the criminal? To which, Andy states, yes, I would never forget that voice. Of course, the 100 suspects equate to the 100 bars Babytron spits. Each suspect is Babytron, but dressed up as a different character, holding a sign with the number of which bar he is currently on. Not only are the visual and lyrical transitions smooth throughout all 100 bars, but Babytron does mention the literal numbers 1 through 100, and has then all make sense in each bar.

While Cole shares the music video would take hours and tons of patience, due to fifty outfit changes and fifty different cuts of film, it did not take Babytron as long to write the song. That would be because, Babytron did not write the song. In fact, it was a freestyle, which he mentions during the BTS footage, suggesting his rhymes are never written, and purely off the top.

Babytron plays a swimmer, a safari guide, several different types of athletes, a hot dog, and more. However, the true Easter Egg throughout this video is Andy Milonakis. Milonakis himself had three roles. The victim, the interrogator, and suspect 60, who ended up also being the criminal. Cole shared he had the idea of getting Andy Milonakis ob board for these roles in the video, but if it did not work, they may have ended up switching a few bars. No need to worry though, within a week of time, Milonakis was on set and made an incredible cameo throughout the video that made you laugh, just like many Babytron songs and videos would do.

Whether or not the music interest is all the way there for you, Babytron is a creative genius. And of course, so is Cole Bennett. I thoroughly enjoyed this music video and will likely continue to watch and pick out new favorite parts.
