Cleveland Killa

At first glance, this was an odd pairing. Though it quickly all made sense and came together with great skill. Machine Gun Kelly has been creating “cyphers” in his back yard, showcasing his freestyle skills. His next guest joins him, just days off of a new album release. It’s Doe Boy.
Doe Boy joining MGK for a freestyle video was at first surprising to me. But they are both from Cleveland and have known each other for years, which they mention throughout their rhymes. The second interesting piece to this was the beat they chose, which was the Killa Cam Cam’Ron beat. Definitely a more slow and laid back beat than what you may expect to hear Doe Boy on, but he held his own The Cypher.
While the beat was a bit slow, Doe Boy’s delivery did not change. His rhymes were witty and something that MGK fans that may not know Doe Boy just yet, will certainly understand. He had a bar about Chrisean Rock and Blueface who have a different headline every three minutes. He called out Kid Cudi in a way to say he is missing out on the Cleveland boys connection, like his and MGK’s. He did this with a Cleveland Browns football jersey on while also making several sport culture punchlines.
Machine Gun Kelly takes his turn second, and freestyles for two minutes straight. His common theme in the cyphers are demanding his credit in hip-hop, which may have been previously lost. He mentions knowing Doe Boy since 2006, opening for Gucci Mane in 2006, and more. Sounds like a special year for MGK.
Doe Boy’s album dropped on Friday with tons of features from artists like Future, Lil Yachty, Babyface Ray, Don Toliver and more. Would you like to see more music from Doe Boy and Machine Gun Kelly?
