A Boosie Movie
9.28.22
Boosie Badazz is a legendary hip-hop artist from Baton Rouge. We know him for his mass hit records like Wipe Me Down, Watch My Shoes. Top albums like Boo Pac, and Touchdown 2 Cause Hell. Cheering for his return home from prison after a four year stint. He continued to drop to music, to this day. He has put on many artists, some that you may not even realize. Next up? How about a book, and a movie, from Boosie Badazz.
This is a huge week for Boosie, whether or not the industry decides to realize. He has yet to slow down on releasing new music, and actually just put out a new single on Friday. His single Slide Then, features artists Big Boogie and Tootie Raww. Yup, that would be CMG’s latest super star, and Boosie’s very own (son). The official music video dropped on YouTube and has about a three-quarter-of-a-million views in under a week, trending at #16.
Just before this, Boosie released his memoir this past Tuesday, titled, Cross the Tracks: A Memoir. The book describes the harsh realities of Boosie’s life trials, and how he got a second chance at his music career. From being a sensation in the game, to be arrested for murder, getting out, then having everything in world stolen - by family, at that.
Today marks the release of Boosie’s new film, Waterboyz. The film is said to be a coming-of-age film, where young kids from urban cities are growing up and trying to make a living for themselves. The film is available to stream for $19.99 and can be found on BoosieMovie.com.
While Boosie is certainly not the first hip-hop artist to write a book or direct a movie, he has shared that unfortunately his peers were not at the premiere to cheer him on for this latest adventure. Are you tuning in to see Boosie’s new movie?
