Back to the Big Leagues

Spring is just days away, which naturally, means that outdoors sports are about to make their comeback. After nearly one hundred days of an MLB lock out, the players and coaches association have finally come to an agreement, and will resume Spring training later this week. As for the NFL, there are a few more names looking to make their comeback into the big leagues, as well.
Rumors had been circulating since the retirement of Tom Brady, that it was not truly going to be a retirement. People had guessed he would go to the San Fransisco 49ers, his hometown team. Personally, if there was a reverse retirement, I was hoping for the Patriots comeback, but never thought Tom would take away an opportunity from rising star such as Mac Jones. After that realization, I had suspected Tom to retire in peace, and let us fans do what we needed to do to get over it. Wrong again.
Yesterday afternoon, Tom Brady took to his own Instagram, sharing an image of himself on the line of scrimmage with the Bucs, along with a photo of his family, decked out in Bucs gear. Tom’s caption, announcing that he would be making a comeback to the NFL, as a Tampa Bay Buccaneer.
“These past two months I have realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now.
I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. Without them, none of this is possible.
I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. We have unfinished business.
LFG”
Dozens of NFL teammates and players, celebrities, and friends and family commented on Tom’s post, thrilled about the comeback. Yes, including Gisele who we expected wanted Tom home and safe from head injuries. However, you cannot take Tom Brady out of football. Especially when you try to leak his retirement prior to him mentioning on his own accord.
We will have Tom Brady back for at least another season. Will he remain in Tampa Bay? Is a trade near? Can the Bucs really win another Super Bowl? And how long until Brady retires again? We will of course, stay tuned.
Another exciting name to make a potential comeback, is Colin Kaepernick. Kaep has been a free agent for almost six years since taking his knee to support racial injustice. This past weekend, he shared videos and tweets suggesting that he was still practicing and staying in tip-top shape, so when his time comes to get another chance, he’ll be ready.
When asking if anyone wanted to run routes with Kaep, Tyler Lockett of the Seattle Seahawks responded, offering up himself and his brother to go practice with Kaep. Now that the Seahawks are in need of a new QB after trading away Russell Wilson, this could be an interesting opportunity for the Seahawks to do what we have been waiting for, for several years, and that is to bring Colin Kaepernick bak to the NFL.
Back in 2020, Seahawks Head Coach, Pete Carroll was quoted suggesting he regrets not signing Colin Kaepernick when he had the chance. Could this be a second chance for both of them?
"I regret that we weren't the one way back when that just did it just to do it, even though I thought that it wasn't the right fit necessarily for us at the time."
This one we cannot be sure of just yet, but would lead for an extremely highly watched season, and most likely, a new most-sold jersey of all time.
