Coi Leray has been on the up for the past year, but is sure to have another massive breakthrough with her next big single. So far, it’s just a quick snippet on Instagram, but she already has friends and fans waiting for it to drop. When it does, we could have a massive anthem on our hands.

Over the weekend, Coi Leray shared a video of herself and her friends in a car, listening to an unreleased song. The song has a very familiar beat, as she samples 1982 anthem The Message by Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five. Coi labels the video “New Anthem,” and to be honest, I think she is right. She sounds great on the sample, as her flow matches that of Grandmaster Flash, but makes it into a female-positive track.

It showing versatility and expanding genres, like Latto did with Big Energy. I see this not only being an anthem for the ladies to sing along to, but a massive breakthrough for Coi Leray, to really get the looks she deserves. The growth the past two years alone is massive, and she is taking it up, several notches, with this new track she has on her hands.

DJ Clue, DJ Whoo Kid, Missy Elliot, and dozens of other artists have commented expressing their interest and excitement in this track. I personally love her style and rhythm on an old-school classic. She is showing versatility, and respect to the history of the art form her family plays in.

While there is no confirmed release date, Coi has wrote in multiple posts that new music is on the way. I am excited for this one - are you?
