DS4EVER

Gunna is prepared to drop his new album, DS4Ever, this New Music Friday. This will be his third studio album, and can be labeled as a continuation, or a similar style of work to his previous Drip Season mixtapes. It has been said that this will be the last of Gunna’s Drip Season series, meaning another artist ready to take on some new skills and styles. Not only has the tracklist been released, but a rap beef that is all too interesting.
The album artwork for Gunna’s new album is a Daniel Arsham art piece. Similar to many of Daniel’s previous works, the piece is representative of Gunna's face, through a stone sculpture. The sculpture includes a massive “GUNNA” chain, and a pair of shades you can always find the artist rocking. The stone is cracked throughout, with crystals appearing in different places. Dan has been an extremely popular trending artist, especially since his Pokemon series. Clever, and a perfect angel for Gunna to take with his album artwork, being as in tuned with art and fashion as he is.
Young Thug has shared that this will be the final installment of Gunna’s Drip Series. Playing a large roll in Gunna’s success and come to fame in the industry, Thug has been supporting his artist nonstop, by sharing several posts and snippets, hyping up Gunna’s new album. Where will he take his sound next, I am not really sure, but based on the tracklist that has been released for DS4Ever, it is clear that he is ready to expand his sound and styles of artists he’s worked with. Lil Baby also tweeted that he had heard the album and is very excited for it’s release.
Gunna has been super successful being a part of YSL, and collaborating with Lil Baby and other artists we are familiar with. This new album features Young Thug and Lil Baby few times, but so many different artists, as well. From G Herbo, to Roddy Rich, to Drake and to Chlöe Bailey, I think there are going to be some really interesting new style and flows that we hear from Gunna, even on this project with these new features.
On top of this, allegedly, we are going to get a diss track. Gunna usually sings, and he signs about his clothes. However, a rap beef has erupted over the internet, between Gunna and Freddie Gibbs. Gibbs has been an internet troll, and being trolled by the internet for a little now. It started off with rumors that Jim Jones had beat him up in a restaurant. Then, Akademiks got involved by continuing to troll Gibbs, Unlce Murda taking Akademiks and Jim Jones’ side in a “Rap Up 2021” track recorded.
Gunna may have taken this and ran with it, by tweeting out “When my album drop Freddie Gibbs will the biggest moment of his career.” In May of 2020, Gibbs called out Gunna for being on Crime Stoppers, a show where he would have snitched on someone whom had committed a crime. In this case, a murder case. Gibbs even shared the clip, to which Gunna denied it being Crime Stoppers, along with any other snitch allegations. Nonetheless, Gibbs seems to take it a comical threat, while taunting Gunna back, but does not seem to be too phased by any of his current issues.
Akademiks shared a clip of Gunna in his drop top listening to the track where he says “I can’t f*** with Freddie Gibbs.” He captioned it “This 5 seconds hotter than anything FEDERICK Gibbs ever released in his life.” The flow sounds cool but obviously there is little context to what the rest of the bar was about, at this point in time.
Will this be Gunna’s best project yet? Are you team Freddie Gibbs? Or team Gunna, Akademiks, Jim Jones and Uncle Murda?
