Vic Mensa just dropped off the anthem of the summer - especially for my East Coast ladies. Never thought you would hear those two things together? Me either. However Vic Mensa teamed up with Ty Dolla $ign, for the release of Eastside Girl, and it is surly something special for music fans.

Ty Dolla $ign is known for his singing catchy hits, so a summer anthem from him is nothing out of the ordinary. On the other hand, when it comes to Vic Mensa, fans are definitely used to him being a lyricist, a rapper, his witty bars and steady flow. Though, if you have been following him, you likely understand the skill he has an artist. He certainly shows that throughout the song, and music video, for the new single, Eastside Girl.

Contrary to Mensa’s freestyles and rhymes, he takes a catchy, singing approach in the new song. If you were watching the music video for the first time, you may have to listen to it a second time and even tell the different between Mensa and Ty Dolla $ign, as they go back in forth in the chorus, and each verse. They play off of each other quite well in the song, which could be why Vic Mensa played Ty Dolla $ign so well in the music video.

Vic Mensa is the only artist of the two in the music video, but delivers a performance for the both of them. Throughout the video, Mensa dances, lip syncs, acts, and jumps around like he is having the time of his life. This song not only showcases Mensa’s versatility as a musician, but it showcases his pure talent as an artist.
