Fitted Caps: Hott or Not?
11.25.21
Dream Doll has been on a roll lately when it comes to releasing new music, and being the center of attention. Her recent hit single, Tryouts, was a way to allude to her sharing her bi-sexual status. Hip-hop reacted in praise to the clever-ness of the track, and Dream Doll living her truth. No matter what she may be writing or sharing bars about, one thing is for sure, she is going to show up in the most fire fit. In her latest music video, You Know My Body, the people are talking, and they’re talking about her extremely outrageous fit.
In Dream Doll’s new music video for, You Know My Body, she set out to rep her city of New York, and she did it hard. Dream worked with Demi Dorsey, a New York stylist to get her ready for the music video. While there were multiple looks throughout, there was one that stood out, heavily. That would be, a bustier with blue pleather bodice, and the cups made of two NYC fitted caps. Throuhgout the video, you can see Dream Doll wearing two fitted caps across her chest, with some patchwork denim and some Timberland-looking-high-heels. You cannot get more NYC this, and whether you love it or you hate it, Dream rocked it.
Demi also was a part of her other fits that included a cute tracksuit, and a top made of dozens of gold hoop earrings. This shoot was innovative, it bent the norm of fashion, and it was so New York. Some of the internet were critics, many on Demi’s page loved it. I for one, think it is fantastic. Fashion is something where nowadays, almost nothing is original, you purely get inspirations from others. This, however, was innovative, and brand new. It reminded me of my textiles class when I was in college for fashion design. I made a dress from shingles and roofing materials. My model told me how heavy it was. I am sure Dream was thinking the same with the top made of golden hoop earrings.
Overall, the song was really dope. If you have not yet heard of Capella Grey, I suggest you get put on, because he is coming up quick and fast. Dream Doll has been absolutely killing the game, and has been for multiple years, but hopefully she’ll start getting the respect she deserves, as one of the top females in hip-hop today.
