French Montana has always been quite the Internet Troll. We can put him in the group with 50 Cent, Young Chop and 6ix9ine for biggest Internet Trolls in the game. This most recent feud, French likely did not start on purpose, but he is excited to engage and finish it.

In a recent interview, French Montana made a comment about having more hits than Kendrick Lamar. Of course, people Stan hard over K. Dot, and they’re going to rebel like crazy against this comment. It was quickly clarified the quote that French used, and explained in context. French said that he thinks he could go on stage at a festival, put him next to anyone like Kendrick Lamar, and he was pull a better crowd because he has more hits. He explained it is not because he is a better rapper. French says that Kendrick has albums and masterpieces, but a festival is more French’s place, because he has more hits. Though trying to clear up his statement, people still did not like this answer, so French is now loudly defending his hits count on Twitter.

I am not going to argue with French’s statement. Many will still likely argue, but French has more club bangers to dance and party to, there is no denying that. Kendrick’s hits are ‘Swimming Pools’ and ‘Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe.’ Those songs are cool, if you want to chill and get high. French is simply saying he has more hits. Upbeat, get your tempo up, bodies moving, energy flowing, and I do not disagree with him here.

Young Thug, on the other hand, does seem to disagree with me. Thugger took to Instagram to share several video messages to French Montana in a now back-and-forth rebuttal. Thug begins by calling out French Montana for his comment on K. Dot, and saying that there is no way French will ever have as many hits as Kendrick. French did not like this, and now they are going back and forth taking shots at each other. French calling out Young Thug for wearing skirts, and Thugger claiming French can’t afford the house he claims to live at, and that it is currently up for rent.

I do not think Kendrick will ever open his mouth on social media to fight on either side of this battle, so this is what we now have to work with. French went ahead and posted a photo to Instagram of twenty of his earliest hit singles. He claimed French Montana vs. Young Thug hits battle, but it does just seem like it is more of petty social media battle at this point in time.

French Montana just came out with a new track and music video called ‘That’s A Fact’, so one can claim he is looking for additional publicity during this time. I’ve been listening to French since the Coke Boys days. While I do think that he’s never been much of a solo artist, like Kendrick and Young Thug can be, I do think French brings something special to the table. He brings fun and energy, which is what I need in my music on most days. I’m sure French looses the battle to Kendrick and Thug, but I give him a slide for this behavior. (See what I did there?)
