Grind Time: FT G Herbo

An always interesting topic for the music industry is: how often should your favorite artist drop? You have Cardi B who drops once a year but it is always an absolute anthem. Then you have Russ who drops weekly, but you probably did not even know that, did you? Both extremes may be too little, or too much for your liking, but seeing someone put in the work is pretty cool. G Herbo is doing just that right now - grind mode, activated.

It has been one month since G Herbo dropped Survivor’s Remorse, his two-disc album. The album has peaked at number 2 on US Hip-Hop Charts, and 9 in the general music category. Still, G Herbo has yet to slow down. With a double sided album, there is plenty of room for visuals. Prior to the album release, G Herbo had shared music videos for Me, Myself & I FT A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, as well as Blues FT Future. Since, he has shared music videos for FWM, and No Guts, No Glory. Just in the past week, G Herbo dropped visuals for It’s Something In Me and All That FT Kodak Black, while we await on the visual for Him to drop today at noon.

Seven music videos off of one album?! That is enough to be a full album. Plus, I am sure there is more. Not only has G Herbo done an incredible job of keeping up the hype from his large project, but he continues to collaborate with young artists he has relationships with, which makes it appear that he also is dropping new music rather consistently.

Singles have been plentiful, but we have received one album per year for the past four years. It appears, however, the next one may be even more soon than that. Last night, G Herbo shared an Instagram story that referenced a Deluxe, a new album, and Big Swerv.

By the context, it sounds like G Herbo has been working on a deluxe album for Survivor’s Remorse, while also working on a new album, Big Swerv. Though, he may have enough new music to skip the Deluxe and drop a new album prior to Big Swerv. It does appear that when an artist is on a role, they spend all their time recording, thus, Herb’s grind mode is turned all the way up right now. Whether it is a Deluxe album, a new album, or whatever Big Swerv may be (or hopefully all three), new music is on the way.

So that leads us to ask; are you feeling the continued album rollout for Survivor’s Remorse with all the accompanying visuals? How often do you want your favorite artist to drop?
