In the year of 2020, we were blessed with Halloween on a Saturday, yet cursed with a global pandemic. So, the holiday may have been a bit different for you, or perhaps not at all. Of course, our hip-hop celebrities managed to keep on the tradition, of the most out-there, well thought out, intricate costumes. Let’s take a look at some of the best costumes this year, and rank their looks from a scale of 1 to 10.

2 Chainz as Toni Ronaldo

2 Chainz dressed up as the world’s most famous soccer player, Christian Ronaldo. Of course he calls himself, Toni Ronaldo, taking his own name. It is of 2 Chainz nature to always be dressed up in designer from head to toe, which is what he seems to do here with a Balenciaga soccer jersey, and what must be some designer trainers. I do love the get up, but the athlete just always feels like the easy way our, or the last minute look when you were not planning on going on. 2 Chainz could wear this any day of the week.

Travis Scott, as Batman

Batman is a Halloween costume that never gets old, and comes back every year, just as the movies do. Of course, if Travis Scott as going to partake in being the world’s favorite super hero, he would have to come correct with his outfit of choice. Travis shared a video walking into a glass windowed room, where his mask and body armor stood waiting for him, just like in the movie. The quality of this costume is what makes it so good, and his own twist which he incorporated - Cactus Jack brown, of course. Other than the color way and posing in front of Travis’s vehicles which we have seen before, I would have no idea who was under this costume. Overall, well done. I give it a 9 out of 10, because where is Stormi dressed as Robin?

Lil Xan as Billie Eilish

Say what you want about Lil Xan and his name, his music, who he is as a human and in the hip-hop industry, but this costume was amazing to me. Billie Eilish is much of a fashion icon in the way that she dresses super punk rock, yet the hottest sneakers and also everything designer. Then when it comes to her voice, it is like an angel singing you depressing music. Lil Xan just completely nailed this look here. I honestly thought he had posted a photo of Billie on his page for a hot second.

A Boogie & Family as The Proud Family

I love seeing A Boogie and his family together, they are the absolute sweetest. He looks perfect in his suspenders and tie, just as Mr. Proud does, and Ella looks equally as on point with her lime blazer and short, reddish brown hair due. I cannot believe my eyes at how big Melody has gotten. Her outfit is perfect, and the perky attitude fits in even better, to play the role of Penny. The best part, though? Artist Jr., with his gigantic afro but you cannot see any of his face, just like the baby in each and every episode. Honestly, fantastic job all around.

G Herbo & Taina as Jay-Z and Beyoncé

What is sweeter than ‘90s hip-hop love? Nothing, in my opinion. G Herbo and Tina’s relationship has got to be the closest thing, since he has really turned his life around for the better since becoming a part of her family. From the outfits, to the background, all the way down to the exact pose, you could not make this seem any more real. Not to mention, they look so good. I hope Jay and Bey saw this.

Fabolous & Family as The Wizard of Oz

Apparently Fabulous and his family love Halloween. He posted tons of photos from over the years, where every time, the family dresses up as something together. This year, is the Wizard of Oz, and they really could not have done a better job. Emily B is the Wicked Witch, Taina as the good witch, the younger children as the Scarecrow, Lion and Dorothy, and of course, Fabo as the Tin Man. The costumes and makeup are just extremely on point, down to the hay coming out of the Scarecrow’s pants. Fabulous job, I should say.

DJ Khaled & Family as Tiger, Pumpkin, Super Hero

For some, a child’s first Halloween is super exciting and extravagant. For others, perhaps it does not really matter to them, since they’ll never remember it for themselves? I just figured that DJ Khaled, the man who has more money than probably anyone on this list, did not even try. His wife is so cute as the cat, with her makeup done and furry slippers, the baby looks amazing as a little pumpkin. I really am not sure what Asahd is, but I need DJ Khaled to come through with something. He would play an amazing Elvis, in my opinion. I know he is not too cool for Halloween, so I am a bit upset.

Maino & Friends as The Purge

I hate when people are too cool for dressing up, and that is why hip-hop is so cool. You probably have not heard about Maino in quite some time, but him and his friends seriously came through with their Halloween looks this year. They might be a little too good, because with his kind of record, I do not think he wants to get caught with weapons, even as props, and a bloody white suit and face mask. Obviously it is Halloween and they all look absolutely incredible. The posse had a bit easy, so I’m going with an 8.

Lil Nas X as Nicki Minaj

Lil Nas X obviously won Halloween with this look. How many years have people been dressing up like Nicki Minaj, and who have you seen match a look like this? No one. Did 50 Cent come for him, for cross dressing and giving himself a whole female body, yes. But is Lil Nas X just as big of a troll himself? Absolutely. I hope this is a new album artwork cover.

Mulatto as Tinkerbell

Mulatto has been the topic of discussion in hip-hop lately, so I could not wait to see her Halloween outfit. Tinkerbell had to be the perfect fit for Mulatto. A cute, small lady coming through with all the power, to make some magic. The dress was phenomenal, with lime green sheer pieces, ornate floral embroidery and rhinestones covering the piece entirely. Her wings were glittered and bedazzled, she clearly shines and looks absolutely amazing.

Cardi B as The Scarlet Witch

As always, Cardi B looks amazing. It appears she got a red airbrush from the neck down, to go with her thigh-high leathery red boots, corset and sleeve wings. Cardi finished off her look with a beautiful blow out, a red lip, and horned head piece. The world needs more female super heroes, and it just feels right that Cardi came out dressed as one this year. She played the roll of leading many young women into her music video for WAP about lifting up other women, and I just think the overall message ties in nicely here.

Offset as The Mask

I actually saw a few Mask costumes this year, but none to the calibre of Offset’s look. Yes, this is Offset. The suit is amazing and exact to what The Mask would wear. The definition in the face, is precision. I wonder how much molding is on Offset’s face, and how they managed to hold his hair together, and just make it look like his head. You’ll have to take the chance to watch the video Offset shared, because down to the little screech he makes, is pure entertainment. I would say for the men, Offset wins Halloween.

Remy and Papoose as a Mummy and Zombie

Remy and Papoose are just the cutest couple with their precious little baby. They absolutely nailed these costumes, but to be honest, I am a bit freaked out. Why would they do this to their baby? Either she is already an amazing actress at such a young age, or she is quite freaked out herself. You guys killed it, but You are scaring us.

Tory Lanez as Eazy E

Tory Lanez dressed as Eazy E. He looks pretty good, but then again, the most he had to is find the right wig. The chains, the glasses and the bomber jacket, you probably wear all the time. Not to mention, I just do not think Eazy E would want to be associated with Tory Lanez right now. He would be on Megan’s side for sure. Tory does look like Eazy E, but eh, whatever.

The Weeknd as The Nutty Professor

Okay, I do have to take back what I said about Offset. He is a close second, but The Weeknd takes the win for Halloween overall with this look. Did you have the slightest clue who this was? I do not think so. The Weeknd is definitely wearing some prosthetics down to his fingers. I definitely feel like he always has a weird interest in makeup, he always goes all out, so this totally makes sense. I love that we got a goofy side to The Weeknd, as opposed to his dark lover boy, typical self.

Saweetie and Quavo as X-Men

Saweetie and Quavo have been quite the couple goals this year, and they definitely kept that same energy while dressing up for Halloween. Each artist had a full, blue body paint job done. Saweetie did a nude body painting, with some fine details and a red wig. Quavo included blue fur on top of his paint job, a blue wig and jacket. I cannot stop staring at them. I do not love X-Men, but they do look fantastic. Honestly, another perfect ten.

The Rock as Lion

The Rock is an important part to the culture overall, so I needed to include him in here. He shared this photo on his Instagram account, saying he bought himself a Lion costume for Halloween this year, but it did not fit. This was the best he could do, and you can see the hat is only covering half of his face. The Rock said, “if 2020 was a Halloween costume, it would be this one.” Welp, it looked like his costume did not work out as planned, but an A for effort, right?

DaniLeigh as Rihanna

DaniLeigh absolutely killed her Rihanna costume. From the Still Got My Money music video, Dani is on point from the wig, the shades, the bra, sleeves, and I suppose we will call them shorts. The looks is almost exact, and Dani added some high heels to her outfit. Also incredible in everything she does, she pays homage to our favorite lady in hip-hop. Dani was definitely a top contender of Halloween. Let me give out one more ten for the night.

Megan Thee Stallion & Friends as Mummies

I had to throw Megan in here because of course she does not miss the party, but you may have missed her Halloween costume. Sure, Meg looks good in everything, but I was hoping for a bit more from her this year. It is nice to see her out with her lady friends, and it looks like she had a lot of fun. I am going to guess that these ladies are mummies, but honestly the excitement is minimal. Megan just wanted to walk around in a bikini at the end of October.
