Honestly, Nevermind

This past New Music Friday, Drake released a brand new studio album, with little notice. The album titled, Honestly, Nevermind, was said to be a new style, a dance album. Critics were slow to catch on while Drake claims he is ahead of the game, and as always, people will catch up and say it is genius. But now, there appears to be much more to unfold.
Drake’s new album is fourteen tracks long, with just one credited feature to 21 Savage. Between this track, and a new Instagram post, fans are enraged with the idea that Drake and Kendrick Lamar have been beefing, perhaps for some time now.
In the song feature with 21 Savage, 21 can be heard saying, "Big stepper, he came in a Rolls be he left in a stretcher." While this line could feel extremely generic with terms that are used plenty of times throughout hip-hop, coincidentally, Kendrick Lamar’s most recent album is titled, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, and there is additional evidence on both Drake and Kendrick’s team that would lead us to believe this is a K. Dot subliminal.
One hip-hop blog shared screenshots from someone said to be a longterm business partner of Kendrick’s, calling out an artist who dropped on Kendrick’s birthday, to put out the “worst album of the year.” Not only has the reviews from Drake’s new album been less than pleasant, but he did drop on Kendrick’s birthday. That, is not all, folks.
Drake has since been on quite the Instagram post rant. They all seem to be rather petty, but one caption hits right where the drama wants it to.
How many more birthdays are you going to turn up before you grow up?
You’re walking a fine line between being childish as fck and forever young
Well, if Kendrick and his team are going to complain about someone dropping on his birthday, it seems like Drake is ready to fight back with his words, immediately.
We are not too sure what caused the drama between the two initially. However, with Drake trying out all these new sounds, and Kendrick finally becoming independent and taking his music to any new direction he pleases - who has what it takes to become the better artist? Who will shift the perspective of new sound? Is the beef real? If so, who are you riding with?
