Takeoff, Quavo

Unc & Phew, aka Quavo and Takeoff have announced their new album, Only Built for Infinity Links, releasing this Friday, October 7th. While fans are looking for Offset to complete their favorite trio, it appears to be more of an issue with the label, rather than his family, which, brings up an interesting point with one of Quavo’s viral new bars stemming from the upcoming album.

Quavo and Takeoff’s upcoming album is 18 tracks long, and is stacked with features. Features include Birdman, Gucci Mane, Summer Walker, Young Thug, Gunna, NBA Youngboy, Mustard and more. Four singles have been released thus far, including Nothing Changed, which released on Friday. The releases have been rather mello so far, but one viral clip of one specific bar has fans talking.

Quavo shared a video of himself, vibing and rhyming to the lyrics of an upcoming song on the album. One of the lines shared was “if it wasn’t for me, there would probably be no QC.” QC is the Migo’s label, Quality Control, that today is one of the largest labels in hip-hop, home to additional artists like Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, City Girls, Lakeyah, and more.

The Migos certainly gave Quality Control huge recognition as a label, and opened the doors for it to be the home of the industry’s latest and greatest new talents. But the question is, is it the teacher, or the talent, that will rise you to the top? Would Quality Control be as big as it was today without Quavo’s impact?

Though it appears Offset is having some troubles with QC, Quavo and Takeoff are still releasing their album under the label. It would certainly be interesting to hear what the team at QC felt about this line, but I am sure they understand a viral trend when they hear one.
