Cardi B, Normani ‘Wild Side’ 7.16.21

Tonight is ladies night, because at midnight New Music Friday hits and the ladies are taking over. Females in hip-hop have been rising to the occasion now more than ever in history, and we are in for a treat tomorrow. Dream Doll kicked it off earlier this week with her new single, Tryouts, and there is plenty more of that same energy on the way.

Dream Doll will strike again, as she joins Asian Doll for on a remix for her viral hit single, Nunnadat Sh**. The remix will also include Dreezy, Rubi Rose and Ivorian Doll. The last time Dream Doll and Dreezy teamed up for a massive female track on the Thot Box Remix, they both spit bars that would go down in history. They even went right after each other, with several other female artists on the track. I cannot help but get pumped for this new record. These girls are going to give it everything they got.

Asian Doll has clearly been going through a lot lately, after the loss of her boyfriend King Von. There has been a lot of negativity towards her about speaking on their relationship, but in the end, has had to pushed her forward into taking her craft more seriously. Nunnadat Sh** was being recognized by all the right people in the industry, and now she has a massive remix that is about to drop, and put Asian Doll on for her bringing all these talented women together.

Dream Doll has taken to the internet to clap back at many that may be haters to their craft, or specifically using the term ‘Doll’ in their stage names. Clearly, there are three ‘Dolls’ on one track, and quite a few more in the industry. Dream Doll pointed out that there are literally dozens of rappers that put ‘Lil’ in front of their name, so people need to start treating them equally. I have personally never looked at it like this, but now that she has spoken, my girl is not wrong.

Next up, Cardi B shared on Tuesday that she had an announcement for us, which she shared last night. The announcement was Cardi speaking directly to the cameras on Instagram stories, and she kept saying “I’m so excited, but I’m scared.” We all know that Cardi is super critical on her own music, so I knew that when she kept saying she was scared, a new music announcement was on the way.

We are waiting on that sophomore album to come through. Not going to lie, I was hoping that was going to come and be ready prior to Cardi having another baby and leaving us for a few months again. While we do not have that news yet, we are getting new music.

Cardi B announced and shared the single artwork for a new track with Normani, called Wild Side. Normani is a fantastic artist, once a part of the group Fifth Harmony. Cardi shared with fans that she wants everyone to act like it is Normani’s birthday with this new track. She said it will be a massive comeback for Normani, we are going to see her in a new light, and she is so happy and proud with her verse on this song.

The cover art shows the two with super long hair that covers their bodies in.. all the areas that need covering. Not to stop the female empowerment here, but the comment section on each talent’s post blew up with support from additional females, including Megan Thee Stallion. Megan commented on Cardi and Normani’s posts expressing her support and excitement for what we are about to listen to at midnight.

Cardi B will also be releasing a brand new silhouette from her Reebok collection tomorrow at 10AM EST. It is a yellow, chunky sneaker, and I personally love it. As if this was not enough, Cardi B says she has one more announcement to share with us tomorrow. Could it be an album release date? I can hardly wait.
